gotta have a big bore XR-500 pinned
I have 2022 ktm 250 exc tpi and Im thinking of buying this kit. Would you recommend it?
Not really no. I took mine off and just did a reflash.
@@WASemiHardEnduro what made you take it out? Did you have major problems with it?
Where can I find out more about this type of race? It looks really fun and a cross between hardish-enduro and trials. How long is the course and what are the rules?
This might be the only one of its kind that I’ve heard of. I wish there were more!. It’s a regular poker run, but you can do these “special tests” at 3 stops around the course. Poker run course is about 20mi long I think.
I like my jx8
got the tsp for my 23 tx300 a couple of months ago and cannot believe the difference! That splutter just off idle was shitting me to tears
Good to know this. I've been watching videos of this bike wondering right away, wtf is wrong with the way it sounds at partial throttle. It sounded too lean to me but most people are saying it's too rich, stock? I dunno. But it sounded immediately noticeably weird.
what kind of mount for your phone on the bike?
Perfect Squeeze by Hondo Garage use “SemiHardEnduro” for a discount!
I'd actually prefer this vs Belfair round rock and dust. Can't stand riding on rock beds. That's how much I hate it
nice off camber. looks slick but holding in well
Or 6lbs and a uhd tube in your buddies free take offs.
Great video dude. Extremely helpful when making a decision
For all around use I still like the Pirelli MT21. Good wear and very predictable.
Wonder how these compare to an at81 at 0psi
Did the bad one make it load up and run rich?
Yes
I often take gravel road shortcuts at night with my 125cc bike this will be so nostalgic in a few years
How about the Mitas XT-754 green stripe, any experience with them? In my opinion a great all around single track tire.
I haven’t tried it, but I hear it compares well to the VE 33S. I just tried the Mitas EX MH double green and it was ok. Not great, not terrible, not really worth the price here in the US imo.
Do you tune and remove the module or must it remain connected ?
You can tune with the module, then just remove it to ride. The flash is stored in the ecu.
hey great vid, what octane fuel are you running? thanks
Pump 91
Cool vid. luv to see your changes on the ERM.., every terrain and rider is different but maybe a vid on why and where the changes on the ERM would be cool, thanks
Мотоцикл такой о травки хочу 😂😂
When I mtb that type of mud it cakes up in the tires and is so hard to ride
A little slick out there, eh? 😆 🤣 😂
Mountain biker here, does banking it on the wall not work? Too heavy?
yeah, at this speed it will fall over. they don’t have nearly as much speed as they would need to ride the outside.
@@vyzegpump7471 this turn is so messed up bro
It was a bit wet, and the dirt was clay. Slick as oil. Coasting with zero brakes would have worked, but I touched the rear brake and it slid out.
so how does itcompare to the jd tune?
JD Tuner was great for cleaning up the fueling, but the ERM (or any reflash) can do timing and power valve in addition to fuel, which helps massively. Way more power, much cleaner running, and the map switch now makes a huge difference.
Hey im in Washington with a tx300i. Been tossing the idea around. What was your total cost for converting and registration/title?
I got the harness from true north motos. Headlight from Motominded. Taillight is Acerbis xled. Parts weren’t cheap. Actual registration was.
VE33S has been my go to. Looking at the GT333NX. How do they compare? Was debating a switch from VE33S/VX30 to the GT333NX/GT216AA. Would that be a mistake? See you have reviewed both…
The 333NX is more of a true gummy, the VE33s is a hybrid. The 333 is taller. The GT216 is a harder compound (last longer, less grip in roots/rocks). The GT Fatty is a very big tire.
@@WASemiHardEnduro how do you feel about having a harder front than rear? If it were your bike, would you run the golden tire or the IRC combo? I live in the Pacific Northwest as well, deep in the woods up by Mount Baker.
@@MYZT1KON3 i’ve personally been liking the VX30 front lately. The GT 216 is a great tire, but since it’s a slightly harder compound, I feel like it’s slides on roots more than the VX 30.
@@MYZT1KON3 and to be clear, the VX 30 is not a soft compound tire relatively speaking. It’s just softer than the GT.
I just bought the erm for my 24 husky te300. When you downloaded the map from their website did you download the ktm xcw map? I didnt see a husky choice. It just says ktm brand bud doesnt list TE. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Yeah XCW is the same bike as the TE
so many of these we cant get in australia , it sucks so much
I’m not tire spinner but Dunlop’s at81ex is soft and only last for 15 hours. I flip the direction each 7-8 hours which is about half of its life I think this tire is close to ix09w and has 2 plies of struct as well. I had 3 flat tires in 6 hours with tubliss…… What do you think about JX8? In between ve33 and ix09?
I'm a big fan of the JX8. It's very similar to the AT81EX. The JX8 seems to have a stiffer sidewall through, but they both have soft crowns. I like the JX8 a bit more overall, but the AT81EX has larger/wider knobs that help it dig in soft terrain instead of folding.
Enjoy your videos, just got a 24 husky te300 and I wanted to know what JD tune you used on your 24 te300?
I have the TSP ERM
I had a blast tagging along with you buddy and your video turned out Great!
Interesting. I love the m5B in the PNW. But admitenally because of the muddy conditions most the year. I fint it better in almost every way than the Dunlop that came on the KTM and a couple other tires i've run.
Anything is better than the stock dunlops
Will a low/poor idle happen too with a failing CCPS? cheers
Yes!
Thanks mate! I’ll be trying spark plug first then doing this test. Thanks heaps for the amazing video.
Nice work and yes to Clake!! I have a 22 FE501 and the best mods I made were a tool steel strip leading from case guard to linkage low point for seamless log transition. 2 is a full cross country tool kit mounted in the big gap on top of gearbox. Kit goes inside a big truck radiator hose cut, riveted and folded to fit perfectly...low centre of gravity n no tools on my body. Come ride southern QLD mate. Cheers
Sad i missed this
I would love to come up and ride this, unfortunately your state legislators don't want Oregon riders in your state to spend money so they took reciprocity away for our OHV permits. West coast socialism at it's finest.
Funny how you call it socialism when it’s the perfect capitalist system functioning as designed.
Thanks for the 24 te review! I have a 19 te250i. Planning on getting the new 300. And giving the 250 to my son. Great bikes! I’m also from Washington (Puyallup)
How is the lean angle traction?
fantastic video- thank you for sharing your experience!
Can't decide between one of these or a 2024 sherco, for slow enduro style riding
Hard to go wrong with either!
Desert 100 1983 where 800 plus riders started out and only 300 finished the race. I rode a Husky 500XC that was showcased in the middle of the middle of the video. Stumpjumpers Desert 100. Got a fifth place trophy and was one of the toughest and most fun races I have ever done, including Oregon and Washington.....Cheers....
Both part numbers look like the same part?
KTM may have already superseded the old part to the new one.
This video is amazing in HDR, nice choice.
Hey Jared, this is John from NSR days. Just got the ERM and excited to try it. Thanks for your video. Let's go ride sometime! There's the Kilted Duck Poker Run at Walker on June 15th
Hey John! 90% likely I'll be there and would be great to ride w/ you!
12v is harm your camera .GoPro recommend 5v and 2or higher amps
Can I just get a reflash from a dealer or do I have to buy the module? Also what do you consider high elevation to get a different head? I ride at 3-7k ft.
You can send you ecu in to a tuner like TBITuning.com or South Bay Moto and they will flash it for you. Half the price of buying the ERM. 3k-7k would be fine for a head. I just see many people who ride below 3k with aftermarket heads and they need race gas.
I feel you'll do more environmental damage with short knobbs since you cant hook up. Then you'll end up spinning, throwing dirt.
Exactly. It's a stupid rule.
This idea might not be viable because GoPro batteries are susceptible to overcharging and getting swollen, doing this will likely bloat it up quicker. Battery might not last even 2 months for a regular vlogger.
Awesome vid man! AT81EX and VE33S for me but I might give the Talon a go for the price alone! Tried searching with no luck yet but: Have you done a front tire review by chance?
Yup check my channel for a front tire review.
How many hours do you put on each tire? I live in the desert and only get 10-15 hours max out of my rear tires.
I usually pull them at 15hrs. Some still have plenty of life left, some don’t. I just like having fresh tires.
Does anyone know where to find an updated list of tires by tire weight? I'm working off a decent list but it seems a bit old. I'm trying to source the lightest tires I can find in both 18/21 and 16/19 for my Surron Light Bee.
Dont know weights but i do know the jx8 is super light out of a few gummy tires ive tried
I don't have a list but imo Michelin tires are lighter than most.
