The Candy Bomber of Berlin: Thanksgiving in the Skies
Discover the heartwarming story of the Berlin Airlift’s most human mission during the Cold War. In 1948, amid a Soviet blockade that isolated West Berlin, U.S. Air Force pilot Lt. Gail Halvorsen brought hope to the city’s children by dropping candy attached to tiny parachutes from his plane. Known as the "Candy Bomber," his simple act of kindness grew into "Operation Little Vittles," a global effort to uplift a city in despair. Join us as we explore how a Thanksgiving of gratitude, solidarity, and compassion united a divided world and etched an enduring legacy of humanity in the skies over Berlin.
