I believe on the Classic Outlook app (PC), and not the NEW Outlook, the Backspace button also functions as a shortcut for Archive!
Oh nice, didn't realize that. Thanks for the heads up.
The short cut key number does not work with the number pad on the computer, only the numbers on the keyboard. Took a while to figure that out. System works great, thank you.
Hi there - that might be due to the Num Lock settings on your keyboard. But either way, glad you figured it out and that you're enjoying the system!

Really Great video
This seems like a great system. I wonder how you would look at it for someone who has multiple email accounts that they use and respond to? I don’t really want to set this system up within each email account. I use Apple Mail. The way I’ve done it based on your video, is to set it up just for one email account and then Apple Mail lets you drag and drop messages from one account into any other account, which is great. However, the catch is that you have to mind which ‘reply-to’ email address you’re using because it will default to the reply-to address of the mail account that you’ve dragged the message into.
Hi Scott - what you discovered is the best way we've found thus far to manage multiple mail accounts. Another option is that some people have such low volume on a few accounts to the point where they only Stack for one inbox, and then they just use their inbox for the others. Hope that helps. - Prasanth
Great video! Thank you!
For the "Remind" function instead of doing the bcc and then moving the email into the Remind label, why wouldn't you use the label function in the email and choose the "Remind" label? Seems more efficient unless I am missing something, which maybe I am.
Hi Tim - you could totally use the remind label and skip this step. We explain it this way because it's easier for people to conceptualize. Happy stacking! - Prasanth
Powerful
Glad you like it! - Prasanth
Super helpful. made 1 slight modifcitaion on the Remind folder As well as BCC - also added a new rule - consists of adding a set of characters in the subject line, which will have this and any replies go into the Remind folder
We're glad you found Stack helpful! It’s always great to see how others adapt the methodology to fit their needs. In case you're interested, we also offer three other productivity methodologies for file management, writing emails for quick replies and meeting facilitation. You can find the info in our website at www.doublegemini.com
Thanks for this helpful video. TIP: I found that the quickest way to move my e-mail from Inbox into the Archive folder is to hit the "backspace" key. No need to create a quickstep.
Nice - didn't know that one.
This method is amazing and relives so much of my anxiety!
That's great to hear Mari!
Can’t wait to try it thx
Hi There, I am a Director for service company and receive up to 1K daily emails. I have a total of 8 different clients and 8 different higher management who are both highly demanding. would this model still work ?
Hi there - sorry for the late reply! It definitely will work, but sometimes requires some adjustments and special workflows for large volume emails. Contact us via our Double Gemini website if you have any additional questions.
Could you do a video for Apple Mail? Really enjoying the Stack Method, and would be great to see a demo of Apple Mail.
We're really happy you're enjoying the Stack Method! You can go to www.stackmethod.com and under the demo videos (Empty your Inbox) at the bottom you'll find the whole setup for Apple Mail. Hope this helps!
You just solved the world problem
Love it! Thank you for such a kind comment!
Thank you. It would be helpful to have the same demonstration in MS Outlook
Hello! I don't know if you already saw but they have it in their playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLU4rDJyz0qdfnBER61CToZKK4r85vjD9i
Lost me at video
Hi Minnie! We would love for you to enjoy the whole Stack experience by watching the full set of videos min order. If you have any questions along the way feel free to reach us out at hello@doublegemini.com
NB, clicking the archive button on the tool bar doesn't remove the flag, so if you're working with to-do lists driven by flagged emails, you'll need to be aware.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you so much for calling our attention to this, much appreciated.
That’s why I like to add to the quickstep for archiving to mark it as complete, this clears the flag and gives a visual indicator that the email is completed and no further actions are required.
Love this. Can’t wait to implement! I get 100+ emails a day so need something quick.
Pro-tip: I was able to set up a rule in my outlook to filter any messages I send to myself to go directly into the Remind folder. I set it up so they're unread so I know if I even have to go into the folder. One less step! Caution: ANY email I send to myself goes into the remind folder, but it's incredibly rare that I send myself items that aren't reminders. I can just move those where they need to go. The overall functionality makes that occasional burden well worth it.
This is awesome!!! Will try it out,:)
Instead of sending directly to yourself, you can send to an alias. For example, add +remind after your name and before @. It should work in all email clients. And then you set your filter to only move emails with the +remind alias to the Remind folder.

I’m having a hard time understanding the “flagging” process, especially for the reply folder. Why would you flag it instead of just replying to it? I’m watching the videos in order on the playlist so this may be answered later in the series.
Hi Debbie - we actually have new guidance on this, which is to do what you said - just reply to them all. If you go to StackMethod.com and go down to section two (www.stackmethod.com/#get-to-zero) and then find your client (Gmail - Outlook - Apple Mail), and then find the video at the bottom with guidance on opening emails in multiple tabs / windows. If you're confused at all, just drop us an email at StackMethod.com and I'll email you back with the appropriate links based on your platform.
How do you deal with ‘Sent’ mail? Specifically where it is part of a thread? Everyone talks about managing the inbox but the sent box can be terrifying especially where you may have to refer back to something.
Hi Doug - watch Video 9, I go into that extensively and explain how to use the Remind folder. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/x5aFrCdkgUQ/видео.html
I think I need more clarification on the WHEN file. I believe the point is to get away from separate private Folders but I'm having difficulty. I've got a Budget Folder so instead am I supposed to list a folder that states When Budgeting? Is this not the same thing but potentially eliminating other private folders? My apologies if I'm making it harder than needed.
Hi Cat - I think you got it right. The workflow would be something like this: 1. Emails come in regarding budgeting. 2. You place them in the When Budgeting folder. 3. When you actually sit down to do budgeting, all those emails are there. That said, if they are one off emails and you make budget adjustments as you receive budget related requests, you might be better off putting them in the Do or Reply folders. Does that help?
What happens, when a “Do” mail takes hours to actually do it? Guess this won’t fit in the 9:05-9:55 timeframe :)
Hi! The purpose of the Do folder is determine what can be done in less than five minutes and determine what needs time in your calendar outside your Stacking session. For tasks that will take more than your designated Stacking time you can separately put time in your calendar to complete it whenever you get a chance. Please let us know if this answers your question!
@@doublegemini Awesome, thanks for the clarification
Mind boggling how video like this barely had any views when it's 100 times more helpful than your typical productivity fluff tag is out there. Drives me nuts that youtube is often a popularity contest.
Wade - so glad you found it useful! Check out the Stack Method site as well - it’s in the description. There are a lot of useful resources there.
I have tried many productivity methods, and this is brilliant! Thank you for sharing this.
