I remember listening to this when it first came out as an angry MCR fan, angry because someone other than Gerard Way DARED to sing a song, and had the guts to take a different perspective, looking back it's a fresh look from an alternate view point, more relatable to the adult audience Gray targets, the MCR version is about teenagers for teenagers, this is about teenagers for adults, can both not exist?
Apparently "cover" is code word for taking a song, making it sound horrible and completely changing what it's supposed to mean to fit your own opinions.
I love this because it's sung from a different perspective. It's sung from the perspective of an adult, where as the original is sung from the perspective of a teenager. you can say she ruined it. I'll disagree on that. I think the two versions go nicely together. two perspectives, both thinking their right, not understanding the opposing view. One side viewing teenagers as these little monsters, the other viewing adults as these jerky oppressive old fuckers.
Yeah I don’t think I like it. I don't hate it but it feels... it feels empty, yeah.
I don’t know how to feel about this. I’m so conflicted. Obviously Gerard did it better but this isn’t horrible but like... I don’t know

Well, this just ruined one of my favourite songs

Wow, the comments are so stupid. Macy Gray is amazing, and has a very unique voice.

The original was from a young adults view if teenagers. This is from a view of an adult.
