I used the mechanics of RC ERA C189 (MD500)

I have tried different Main Blades. The original Blade 230S blades are too short for the scale appearance. The 325mm long blades typically used on 450size Helicopters match best for the appearance but for flying I use 270mm Blades from SAB.

Utilizo latas de aerosol para la capa base porque no tengo un sistema de aerógrafo. Utilizo un pincel para los detalles.

Hi, I had to do a cut just above the windows to clear the main gear of the V950 mechanics. You can see the cut-outs at 1:32s in the Video. The cut-outs and gear are later hidden by the additional tanks.

Thank you! Yes, the PET foil fuselages are definately lighter and you can achieve more flying time. My motivation and joy of doing these conversions is to see these models flying, although they were not designed for that purpose.

@@heliscalerk3614 Allright, i see. You might love to try OMP M2 mechanism then. It offers a lot more power than Blade`s 230S offers, wich is allready a lot better than 200SRX.

Ich „muß“ mir jetzt auch unbedingt einen solchen Rumpf bestellen!😂 Ich bin selber ein großer Huey Fan und hab seit kurzem den FlyWing 450er Huey, brauche aber noch einen Rumpf für eine kleinere Mechanik. Haben sie vielleicht in Foren ihre Bauberichte veröffentlicht, das wäre super interessant.

@@antonberger1233 Hallo, das ist die 450er Größe von Causemann. Als Mechanik diente ein Amewi Buzzard Pro XL oder WLToys V913 mit Brushless Motor. Allerdings musste ich anstelle des 2S Lipo's einen 3S verwenden damit der Huey vernünftig fliegt. In Foren bin ich nicht unterwegs, nur hier auf RUclips. Für welche Mechanik soll der Rumpf denn sein ?

@@heliscalerk3614 Die Mechanik ist vom Blade 230 Smart, dann tendiere ich zum 400er Rumpf🤔

@@antonberger1233 Ich glaube es ist derselbe Bausatz für 400er und 450er. Es wird nur der Heckausleger entsprechend der Mechanik gekürzt.

Hi, thank you ! I found this kit on eBay Kleinanzeigen, there are some of these kits offered from time to time. Unfortunately, they are no longer produced. I did not weigh the fuselage itself, but my model has a take-off weight of 521g.

Hi, R/C helicopter size classes e.g. 450 are typically defined by the distance between main rotor shaft and tail rotor shaft. Scale model kits in contrary use the ratio compared to the original size e.g. 1/18. In case of the Huey, a 1/18 scale kit matches quite good the dimensions of a 450 size R/C helicopter. If we would consider another helicopter type, for example a Sikorsky CH53, it would be a different story. A 1/18 scale model of the CH53 would be much bigger than a 450 size helicopter. The 6inch figure would be too large for the 450 size Huey.

Yes, it is quite heavy and not suitable for ambitious flying manouvers. I enjoy hovering it just in front of me and looking at all the details.

Thank you! This is the rocker assembly which is part of the original Huey rotor head design. On my r/c models they have no function but I put them on for the scale look
