4:48 "Snuff radio shit" Oh my fucking god. There is shack in the village, containing only a red chair. I've read theories about how in that shuck, snuff videos were secretly produced and that's why Harry freaks out about it...
Cuno is my second favorite. His mind is an iceberg, his morality is kaleidoscopic. Kim is the anchor that ties you to reality and your responsibility. Cuno would have driven you over the edge if you recruited him earlier. Cuno is Harry's soulkid if there is such a thing. like his son from another father and another mother.
I know this was 2 years ago and you probably found out, but hilariously, you can sell the speakers for 30 reál. 😂 You basically scam the guy just because of your speaker obsession. Harrier is a weird guy I'll admit, but sometimes it pays off. 🤷♂️
Cunoesse is probably the most terrifying character in the game. Her sociopathic manipulation, her visceral fear of law enforcement, and her straight up suicidal behavior in the presence of a gun, all while just being a child. To add, she latches on to a less troubled child and manipulates him for her amusement.
i dont think she was manipulating him when she was sleeping soaked near the apartment's entrance. girl never had a chance. In the right timeline where we got a proper sequel, we'd play as a newly promoted Cuno or have him as our partner, from the ending you recruit him. You'd meet Cunoesse later on & have that be the cunos biggest choice on how to respond to her.
Cuno and Cunoesse are two of the characters who make me feel the worst. Because I desperately want to help them, but I can’t do that. The best you can do for Cuno is bring him into the force, and being a cop isn’t gonna be good for him. It sure as shit isn’t good for Harry. And Cunoesse doesn’t _want_ your help… It’s such an engaging part of the story and it’s pretty much entirely unrelated with the murder. Just another part of what makes the world feel so alive
Yeah it reminds of season 4 of the wire. Where it shows the hopless cycle of kids growing up in fucked places with no hope of getting out. I was really frustrated while playing the game because I was trying to find options to help them but I just couldn't do it. Makes sense tho, it just makes me sad.
He's just a child. He only knows what he knows. Cuno might come off as a bratty little shit, but hearing that "It's not Cuno... It's Cunoesse" immediately puts things into perspective. Goddamn, I need to play this game again.
As someone who never played anything like this, this game has been such a masterpiece I wish it took 20-30 hours. My only regret was that it was too short. As soon as I finished it I started again, it is that replayable, every replay can be different depending on how much you want to stray from your actual personality. Very very good.
im fairly sure if you do all the content a playthrough is least 20 hours, the game has a word count of over a million thats like 50 hours of reading dialogue alone if you do literally every single thing possible
Yeah, you could maybe guess that non human "cargo" won't be as protected from Pale exposure as the actual paledrivers, now imagine being a young child in a rural far away country being trapped accidentally in the cold dark of a shipping container AND the unshielded and unprepared (she probably didn't even know what a "Pale" even is) effects of Pale mindfuckery for SEVERAL DAYS. Maybe the possible "kid" that she could have killed was a friend of hers in the same country trapped in the same situation as her. You could imagine a lot of possible and dramatic origins/explanations for her situation given the hints the game gives you. Maybe she is just a part of the Revacholian Surunese community and just ran from a terrible home, it could be that simple as well.
Cuno really is a great dude, considering how he lives and what he's been through. Not to mention he's being held hostage emotionally and is probably scared shitless of cunoesse, enough so to blindly obey almost anything she says. The alternate ending really shows what an intelligent young man he is, that young he's already got a f*cking decent grasp on reality.
5:45 One of my favorite Half Light checks in the game. The way he says "Fear." along with that Physical chime. Also with high Authority, it says "Fear of the truth" which means Cunoesse wasn't just afraid Harry and Cuno whispering without her knowing what it is, she's afraid that Harry know what she did.
One of the most chilling turns of dialogue in the game, for me, is the sequence of passive logic, endurance, and half light checks in this conversation which reveal that Cunoesse likely murdered another child three years ago and went into shock before being discovered by Cuno, and he's been living with that fearful suspicion all this time.
@@xshiromorix I like how, unless you're running some kind of ubermensch build, only *some* of the passives trigger--so you don't get the full picture until your second time around. My first time, it was just Shivers that chimed in, barely hinting at the death of a child, and I was left to wonder until I came back to the game later, with other skills.
Not being able to smack to fuck out if these little shits and Cindy is the biggest crime of this game by far. I was waiting for the option to just beat them down and show them what the law is and it never did

"It's not Cuno... it's Cunoesse." Her being named after him makes this a really great subversion. The game mis-represents her as a female version of Cuno, but they're very, very different characters.

It’s actually 8mm, not VHS. Video Home System was invented in the 70´s, the game is taking place in the early 50’s

Google says that it takes an average of 60 hours to beat it, 90 if you do everything and 20 if you only rush the main objectives.
So it took less than 20 hours for you to beat the game? It was more than 35 for me and I didn't even do all the side quests I had.
