In Aug 2022, we hiked from Lauterbrunnen to L'Etivaz on the Via Alpina trek in Switzerland. We slept in a combination of official campgrounds, huts and wild camps. This is the first part of the adventure. The trek makes its way through several alpine passes and majestic glaciers. The Via Alpina is a challenging mountain hike through the picture-perfect landscapes of the Swiss Alps. This is an a...

In May 2022 I solo hiked 170 Km on the GR221 - the Drystone Route in Mallorca. I was wild camping every night carrying all my gears. I would resupply on food regularly whenever i passed by any village on the way. Water being scarce on trail, i would usually carry 3L for the day and refill whenever possible. Pack weight: 14kg excluding water. This is an ambient film without dialog. Main Camera: ...

Beautiful video, awesome trail🤙 did it this year as well🫡 ruclips.net/video/DzR_lUMaANI/видео.htmlsi=toWGZnF8N9c8SHhC
Very very nice... And to be honest, dificult to stop before the end. Staying dreaming all the long.... Nothing to add, well done Avish !
amazing video, what was your emergency plan if you stuble and hurt your foot/angle in an area with no cell coverage? did you meet people every day?
Great video. I’m in my 50s and reasonably fit but by no means an experienced hiker but would love to do this walk. Do you have a list of equipment you took. I noted that you didn’t wear walking boots with ankle protection ? Was there no need as looked quite rough terrain in parts ? Thanks
Thank you for Amazing video, going to that park this weekend!
beautiful, thank you for sharing your experience, cant wait to see it from my own eyes
Beautifully captured. And at last a video that shows some bad weather. Be aware though that wild-camping is not allowed in Mallorca and doing so can be fined well into thousands of dollars. This is especially so in these days (2024) when protests against tourism are mounting.
Beautiful video of my favourite mountain ❤ May I please (as an amateur) ask how do you film yourself when you are alone ? Thank you
Thank you :) I use a tripod for filming myself.
Very well made, thanks for sharing! May I ask the name/location of the small pond/lake in the final shot of the video? (Not oescheninsee)
Stunning cinematography - something you can look back on in 10, 20, 30 or 40 Years time and be proud of what you achieved and created
thank you for watching :)
What sorts of water sources were you able to find?
water is very scarce on trail. only bottled water from towns on the way, i'd carry 3-4L per day.
@@adventuresofavish Thanks I've done it now. Taps outside Rifugio Tossals Verdes and Lluc monastery. 2 tap fonts on trail between Soller and Barranca de Biniaraix. Couple of fonts in some of the villages but I forget which ones. I was okay with 3l liquids including 500ml energy drink or hydration salts but that is very individual. Great walk and thanks for the inspiration.
@@AndrewHelgeCoxwell done. happy to have inspired. i hope it was not too hot? i can't imagine doing this hike in July.
@@adventuresofavish I did it in June. I got lucky with some rain and hit most exposed sections at cooler times of day mostly. Did have a couple of hot days though!
I just did this hike in March. It was fucking hard! At some points I had to carry 4L of water!! I was too tired to feel tranquil. But I lost belly fat and got good sleep.
hehe. yes water was very tricky on this trail. btw am always loosing felly fat after every hike ;)
👍bon film💪
Merci :)
How's wild camping along the AV2? Is it easy & allowed to pitch in most places? Thnx!
usually above treeline it's fine. fitch at sunset and leave in the morning leaving no trace.
@@adventuresofavish Did you ever have problems?
Where are you on the last day? Is it on the peninsula sticking out to the east of port pollenca?
Yes it’s there
@@adventuresofavish thanks I shall go forth to cliff paradise past the finish like yourself. And thank you for creating such art for us to enjoy
Very nice, very well done. I am Swiss and have hiked some of the trail that you show. I have retired recently, and this summer I would like to hike the Alpine Pass Trail, which is south of Via Alpina. It starts in St. Moritz and finishes at Lake Geneva in St. Gingolph. It's very beautiful as well.
Hi. Thank you for watching. Switzerland is an amazing place. I will be back soon. I love hiking on those mountains. Enjoy your next hike.
love the video, i wanted to know what camera gears are you using.
Thank you. Here i used my drone and iphone 13

Thank you so much 🤙
Absolute beauty. The logistics of this hike look overwhelming though 🤩
Thank you
This is phenomenal! Absolutely phenomenal my friend! Looks almost unreal!
Thank you my friend. Glad you appreciate it :)
25 km per day is really impressive in this terrain. Did you follow a particular route / could you share your approximate itinerary?
Yes, i did some long days. I carried a light pack which made it easier. I followed roughly the av2 while making some detours here and there. I had a map with me and explored other side routes along the way.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Just beautiful. Your best one yet...!
Thank you :)
Feels so soothing to watch 😩😍
Your film concept is professional, thank you! :)
Thank you too!
A very brave/courageux man just you and the big man upstairs and a pack of starving wolves, bravo to you Sir. We managed to scale Pic de Bure once and that was an experience of a life time perhaps Ecrins will be in my bucket list. thanks for sharing .

Beautiful videography of an amazing place. Well done.

Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic! I was going to do TMB soon (September 2023) I’m having a rethink now 😁 This tour looks awesome!!! 🏔️ Good work mate 💪
Thanks. Did you went for it finally?
@@adventuresofavish Hi. Yes 😁 Seven days at end of septembre. Wild camped All the way apart from one night in the refuge just before Courmayeur 🍻 🍲 Fantastic weather ☀️ Cold nights with one fierce windy night, one torrential rain night. And one with a frozen tent. Absolutely amazing… Met some awesome people and saw a Lynx cat 🐈⬛ amazing. Etc etc etc Same again next year or maybe the tour des écrins 💭 All the best.
that's excellent. september is an amazing time, beautiful autumn colors. Thanks@@grahamlove759
Hi Avish, I feel nostalgic watching your videos. It's a pity that the weather was not friendly throughout your journey - both in part 1 and part 2. You've probably made this hike in late August or early September. According to our experience, the best time to go hiking in the Swiss mountains is between June and late July. And I recommend walking toward Lungern and Lucern from Interlaken or Brienz. The scenes along the trails are breathtaking.
Thank you for watching :) Yes we were there late summer early autumn. Will definitely check out the routes you mentioned.
Great video you captured some amazing scenery and have inspired me to go here
Thank you. Go for it. You'll love it :)
Hi Avish, by the way, if you're in case a novel reader, I've authored a 412-page historical romance novel called: Why Are You Crying, Mama?
I'm glad that you appreciated my comment. We'd surely have trekked along this route if we had known how beautiful it was. I'm so sad to inform you that I'm already 78 years old now, and I don't have the strength to do it alone anymore. Once again, let me affirm you that you've done great work. I still watch it quite often. Thanks once again.
my pleasure. Will checkout your novel :) Thanks again for appreciating my work.
Superb video ! Beautiful hike in Beautiful MOuntains. See you at the top
Thank you David. Enjoy your hikes 🙌
What map or app did you use to navigate in eight days?
I used maps.me
hey Avish, great film, loved it. hiking the via alpina later this month, what was your daily mileage on this stretch?
Thanks. The daily mileage was between 15 to 30k, depending on the days and how i felt.
@@adventuresofavish alright, would you also be able to share the wild camp locations?
@@teepusultan99 i don’t really have the exact locations but i would suggest to camp away from the villages, above treeline is usually fine.
Great video again, thank you 😊
Thank you 🙂
was the trail crowded at all? i've heard there are cable cars shuttling tourists up to the peaks in most places in switzerland. Wondering if that detracted fro the feeling of it being in wilderness?
It’s true with the cable cars but the tourists will stick to a radius of around 5km around the station which is just a tiny part of the trail. I did not find the trail crowded at all, in the mountains most of the time we were just the 2 of us.
