Thank you for speaking up about your story. I was raped in 2006 and made a police report but did not go to the hospital or press charges. I moved a year later and tried to block it out best i could after i had my 2nd child in 2008.i revised my statement in 2011 to police as i remembered more even though i knew it wouldn't go anywhere. I went to numerous counselors. none helped but one really so i stopped counseling. i got 3 tattoos and that temporarily helped a bit. It sucks. i had so many flashbacks for 3 - 4 yrs after then i did my best to block it from my memory. I am married for 10 yrs now and have 4 kids, but it still hurts. i am 32. it happened when i was 19
Chit Chat Mom thank you for opening up. It’s doesn’t get better, but it does get easier, and as crazy as it seems, talking about it helps. I am proud of how far you have come.
I had a good friend - still do who i use to go over to her house to talk. she's in 40s and has been where I have. it helped but i am 8 hours away now and can't do that. And thanks, me too. Thank you for sharing your story and encouraging others to do the same.
