Thank you for this! It’s so thorough! I’m about to attempt to start using floss drops, and it helps me to see how it works. I was a little worried about braiding them because I was afraid it would make it too difficult to pull out one piece of thread, but it also looks so nice to look at and I’m sure it helps them get less tangled, so I think I’ll have to try that
This is such a brilliant way to use the floss drop and may I ask what is the thing that you used to tie the end of your braided floss? Thank you !
Hello! Can you tell me where you got the binder? Thanks!
Thank you Morgan. I am a beginner and am waiting for delivery of that specific floss drop. You have just saved me hours of struggle trying to figure all that out.
Ah, I LOVE THE Amid Amish Life Pattern!!! It’s gorgeous! I really enjoy WIP progress videos and WIP parades. I love your videos!
Did the table come with the machine or we have to.buy seperately
I love simplicity. I put my floss in a small ziploc bag with the number on the bag. There is ad box made especially for these bags with two sections and I just file them in order. Done
Hi Morgan, Can you make a video that shows a good way to organize the floss drops where the colors are easy to find I like the advantages of the drop floss and I want to switch but I have over 400 to 500 DMC colors at the ready. To store the floss drops on a ring is too project specific. I need the system to be able to adapt to any WIP I have in front of me and be able to easily select any color.
Thanks for the thorough review of this machine? Do you like sewing with it so far?
Great videos! I'm so glad to have found you! Thanks for sharing...in the midst of your busy school schedule!
Very nice! I hope it works well!
that was awesome🥰
I have only found you today and have enjoyed your two episodes on sorting and storing floss. I LOVE floss and have all the colors. I wish I had started the way you showed. But I really enjoy working w/ floss. Sometimes I’m cleaning them up and reorganizing all day long! Ha! Looking forward to finding more if your videos you and your dog are darling. I’m 73 years old so I have time to do a lot of handwork.
Great job Morgan
Great job. Lots of information. Keep up the great work.
I have an older version of the 3160. I love the machine, and frequently sew without the foot pedal. You made a great choice!
Thank you very much!
The braid is a very good idea! Thank you!
Awesome job. Thank You for the video. Really helpful. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much!
Brandy from BeStitchMe fabrics has a set of 4 fabrics that she thinks would be great substitutions for the called for fabrics for A Year in the Woods. Her fabrics are a joy to stitch on and best of all they can be ordered in the fabric and count of your choice. Just note that due to differences in fiber content fabrics do take the dye differently. Most noted is that evenweave and 18 count Aida are normally lighter than linen or 14/16 count Aida. She is great to work with and can help guide you through making a fabric choice
Thank you for this info! I just checked them out and they look perfect!
I'm stitching the year in the woods series on the bestitch me fabric, 18 ct aida, and I LOVE it!! The fabric is like no other aida I've ever stitched on. It's so soft & perfectly dyed for all 4 seasons.
Hi Morgan! Such a lovely flosstube and beautiful projects! Enjoy the rest of your week 🌷
Thank you! ❤
I think that will be so lovely to stitch the critters together in their seasons! Don't be afraid of linen...I too am a newer stitcher, just over a year now, and I started with aida, but about 6 months ago tried out linen and I absolutely love it!! Welcome to flosstube!! 💕
Thank you for the encouragement! ❤
You have lovely projects!! I'm a teacher also, 1st grade, so I understand why it can take awhile to finish projects!! Safe travels to camp!! And I also discovered that you can get hand dyed aida from several sellers on Etsy!!
Yes! Thank you! Best of luck in the upcoming school year ❤
Hi, Morgan. I, too, was under the impression that Aida only came in solid colors. I’ve since found that the dyed fabrics also are in Aida. Or maybe they’re printed on one side but the colors are just as beautiful as linen. For example, I’m doing The Lord’s Prayer (Nashville Release 2023) in Zweigert 20 ct Vintage Country Mocha. The coloring is wonderful
Thanks for sharing!!
Ty for making this video! I’d love to see how u stitch ur embroidery floss on top of acrylic thread. I’ve been trying to follow continental spots with the floss and just position it as I go along, but I just bet there are some rules or tips idk for that yet. Hey, I know why they call it a darning needle now. Darn, I dropped it again! My right hand always snatches from my left. That set of players being a lifesaver had me saying, “Yas gurl!”
Congratulations!!!! May she be a loyal companion for a very long time!
Congratulations on your new sewing machine. I know you will enjoy it. It is always fun to get a new sewing machine.
Omg I used to quilt also..I hand quilted my tops so relaxing…have fun with it 😊🌻🇬🇧
There is something therapeutic about stitching ❤️
I can't seem to find your binder in the UK, do you have any idea where I might be able to find one? Does it have a specific name?
Mine is just a generic brand, but Floss-A-Way and Sullivans offer the binders as well. Best of luck!
Keep up the great videos. And happy stitching to you.
Thank you so much!
Shameless plug here, but I’m stitching Amid Amish life and the Gathering Honey piece on my channel. I’m stitching mine as one piece. My mom also purchased the DMC kit for me back in the day and I’m finally getting around to using it on my Pandemic piece.
Great!😊
Thank you!
I had those magazines at one time and had thought about stitching that. I opted for The Quilting by Told in a Garden (another Amish design) instead. I didn't know if I would get tired of stitching such a large design. It is a beautiful pattern. Maybe try 16-count Aida so that the finished design isn't so large. This way, it won't be as expensive to frame. I vote for one piece. Amish designs were popular in the late 1980s. You might like to check out Told in a Garden designs. Many of them are Amish designs.
Thank you! I will definitely look into that!
Great Flosstube! I live on a farm, and I am a retired teacher. I love your floss drops. I have seen them on Etsy. I already use Annie's Keepers, which has worked well for me. They are more cost-effective, too, because I have a lot of floss. The only thing is, I wish Annie's Keepers were larger and had an extra hole. I just use pinking shears to cut the fabric, and it prevents unraveling. Looking forward to your next video! Lucius is adorable!
Thank you for the tip. I had not thought to use pinking shears!
How many come in a package? So interested in these. Thanks for the info.
You can buy them in many different quantities. I believe the standard offerings are 5-100!
Hi Morgan I’m new to cross stitch so I’m loving the tips …they are really helpful for me Hope your be doing more regular videos…..your first video on the floss was saved me screaming as I get fed up Knots😂 I’m doing stamped cross stitch but hope to learn counted
I have plans for a beginner series with tons of tips and tricks! Stay tuned and thank you for your comment! ❤
@@justmorganstitching that will be fantastic,can’t wait💕
Thank you!!!
I think it would be much more impressive as a single unit!
Hi Morgan, In answer to your question. My very favourite flosstubes are where we are shown consistent progress on Wips. My least favourite flosstbes are where we are shown a surplus of new starts. Some new starts are great of course, we all have them, and must have them or we would run out of things to stitch. But all things in moderation. Thanks for asking this question.
I love this perspective! I also love seeing progress on a project. Thank you for your input! ❤
I started this same pattern in 1987 and I am on the 2nd panel. I have worked on it several times this month.
I am stitching it as one large piece.
That is awesome! I am sure it will be beautiful. I think I am gathering that most people are suggesting one piece as well.
I have a hardback book called “101 Best-Loved Designs from Cross Stitch & Country Crafts”. Amid Amish Life is in this book (which is why I have it). I am planning to do this as a single picture, rather than as a triptych. I had the fabric cut by a cross stitch store in the Southern Highlands south of Sydney a long time ago. I’m just getting back into Cross stitch. Will first need to grid the fabric. I have already made my working copies.
Thank you for sharing! I had no clue such a book existed. Happy Stitching!
Love the Amid Amish Life pattern. Can’t wait to see your stitching of it. I’m going to look for the 1987 Cross Stitch magazine’s on eBay to buy. I think it would look great in one frame. Would like to see what your working on and your finishes. Lucius is to cute. Happy stitching 🧵🪡
Thank you for your kind words ❤

Hi Morgan! It was so fun to watch you unbox those magazines! Your joy and appreciation for older things is refreshing. I was subscribed to that magazine “back in the day” and have those issues in my collection. Look up the RUclips channel blitstitch. He has finished that piece all as one and it is just beautiful. Couldn’t find the video where he shows his finish but if you watch #77 he shows it as a wip. Happy stitching! Teresa
Thank you so much!! I will definitely check out that channel.
I vote for 1 piece. Good to see you back. You are different from other Flosstubers--fewer projects in process, some older stuff few have seen. No preference on topics.
Thank you so much!
Combine it in one frame.
This is what I'm thinking also!
Cross stitch video was great so is your dog
I just found this. You explained the floss drops perfectly. Thank you
Thank you! I've been wanting to use floss drops but was trying to figure out how to store them. I had thought about the bags...and then I saw your video. Perfection. Hadn't thought to braid them.
Lovely video! 💕 Just found your channel and subbed! I know you must be busy with your job, but I do hope you can make some more videos, you are such a sweet and shining light! I had a feeling you were also a Christian, and then you mentioned your Bible and I said "I knew it!" lol! Always good to find other Christian crafty people ☺️ Hope you have a great week! 💕
Girl you just blew my mind pulling one strand out of that braid! I'll admit I probably won't start taking the time to braid my floss but that was cool. Welcome to flosstube!
