Dancing with Parkinson’s (DWP) aims to bring those living with Parkinson's disease and all seniors out of isolation and into an artistic community where they can dance and connect with others. We provide a fun, safe environment where seniors can celebrate the artistry and potential of their own movement.
Guided by this mission, DWP has been providing FREE DAILY dance classes to ALL seniors across the country via Zoom. Additionally, we are thrilled to have re-opened several in-person classes across the GTA.

Global News Bridging Generations Through Dance
Dancing with Parkinson's works to bring people living with the disease out of isolation and to enrich their lives through movement, expression and connection. In 2010, the organization developed and hosted ground-breaking intergenerational dance projects between older adults and youth. Susan Hay has the story.

Our "Slice of Life" series features our DWP participants sharing stories, life experiences, hobbies, and passions for all of us to get to know one another better and possibly to learn something new. After each presentation, we have an opportunity to ask questions to our presenter and engage in meaningful conversations on the topic.

On April 11th, 2024 Parkinson Canada hosted an energetic afternoon of music and dancing - a meaningful opportunity to come together as a community and spread awareness about Parkinson's disease. DWP was thrilled to be invited to lead guests in dance and movement for this special event, which included the world premiere of a song, Slow Emotions, by Martha and Company!

A dance class was held in Charlottetown yesterday with the goal of getting people with Parkinson's moving again. Both participants and instructors say it's something special that provides emotional and physical support.
