What's the purpose of knowing your air/fuel ratio in realtime?
Since this is probably a highly custom build, this can help check for issues like fuel leaks (loss of fuel pressure) or say low air pressure (because the A/F ratio will be off).

This also works when you shift, gasses can be used to keep the turbo spooled up so you are under full boost as soon as you engage the next gear
You can tell exactly how antilag works by looking at the AFR guage. When he's trying to build boost without it, it's a relatively normal AFR. As soon as he uses antilag it drops down to 10, which is really rich, which is exactly how antilag works. It's squirting gas even though it makes the AFR really rich, which builds boost.
Nope, nope and NO!! You know nothing. AFR have nothing to do with it. It's timing retardation that makes turbo spool faster.
@@feluke8396 The timing is retarded so the turbo can have a rich mixture to combust, keeping it spooling. The main mechanism behind anti-lag IS a rich environment. But, yes, a rich environment couldn't be created without retarding the timing. But to say that it is solely timing retardation that makes anti-lag is misleading. That's like saying a gun fires a bullet because you pull the trigger... yes, but no, it's more complicated than that. But if you want the dumb explanation, sure, you can keep it.
@@drdaedalus880 Main mechanism behind antilag is keeping exhaust gasses flowing. No flow=no turbo spinning, no matter what AFR you will have. By timing retardation you increase amount of gasses that enter exhaust, because combustion still continue, after the exhaust valve opened. That gives you more flow with hotter gas that can spin turbo. If you ever tune, do experiment. Adjust AFR to your liking, let's say 10 and watch for boost, very little will change. Then retard timing by 20-30deg and look what will happen with boost while keeping the same AFR. Your analogy to gun is flawed and stupid.
