That's a great memory. Hans Zimmer knows how to make impactful and memorable music. The music as they're retrieving the microfilm at the end of the movie is also fantastic.

I can still view the green smoke, even though it was 27 years ago. It definitely is one of my favorite movies.
0:28-0:38 is relatively silent, yet still has much heart and soul to it.

0:39-0:53 almost sounds like a guitar rock melody.
Hans Zimmer knows how to bring the melodies and intensity 🎸🥁 🎻
If I'm not speaking too soon, Hans Zimmer also created the background music for Broken Arrow, The Last Samurai, and won an Oscar for The Lion King score, and a Golden Globe for the Gladiator score.
On another note, The Negotiator also had amazing background music, and both David Morse and the late great Jon Spencer co-starred in it like they did in The Rock.

Such great dialogue in this movie. Because it was an action movie with a bit of comedy, it gets overlooked when it comes to acting and writing.

One of my favorite action movies there were some great action movies from the mid to late 90s and this is one of them
The replay factor is huge on this movie. There's a lot of my favorite movies that I can't just watch anytime. If this comes on at home when doing something else, it plays in the background. Never even a thought to look for something else.
