I got a Dake’s KJV for my 16th birthday in 1992. The gift of salvation and a KJV bible is the greatest gift any adolescent can receive. Now that I’m in my late 40s, and have become more spiritually mature, I don’t agree doctrinally with alot of the commentary in the Dakes. However, there’s so much information to aid the studies (the lists of subject topics with scripture cross-references are great) it is worth every cent for those that weened from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, and there a little.

What a great find! From what I understand, Riverside became World Bible Publishers, who then became Thomas Nelson. I recently found a 1996 World Bible Publishers edition of an extremely hard to find reference Bible, in excellent condition. Is your loose leaf Bible in red letter? God bless, and Happy New Year!

Great review, Sis, as always! I was unaware of such a Bible until I stumbled upon your video. I found a burgundy one on eBay in decent condition. I grabbed it straight away, as it was the last one. Am looking very forward to diving in. Many thanks and God bless.

*Hello Gypsy, I need your help. Which study bible has these little icons/pics., for example in the beginning of Luke it has a little book picture icon where it says The book of Luke. And then another icon/pic of an hourglass for The Time of Luke. I keep seeing this study bible and after much research online (I've combed thru quite a few videos on Airikkk and Frisch perspective...and many others. CAn't seem to find this particular study bible. Yeah , I feel bad for pushing their synthetic liners. If I had known that they had a 7 year shelf life I never would have gave such high praise. They literally decay even without being used, its gross like flaky dead skin.

Hi Gyps.😇 After all these years, I've gone full circle. Starting out with loving the old style paste down Thompsons. Then, moving on with the "in crowd" watching every classic get turned into a Schuyler like design. I am back to cherishing the simple paste down old-school TC. They become so flexible and easy to flip through with use. It really was sad seeing Kirkbride close down.

That print looks a lot better than my Blackface I love the Bible but the print is light and inconsistent Nice video

I have an old Thompson chain KJV and a new NIV large print. There are a few changes. Some are good and some are not. I like them both!

Nice review and beautiful Bible! I have a CBP Thompson Chain Reference Bible. It's Black Licorice Water Buffalo Leather cover and calfskin liner and edge lined. I don't think CBP makes that Bible anymore.

Wow, such nice printing and amazing paper! I got one of the latest right before Zondervan remade them. The quality is garbage and it hurts my eyes to read.

Thanks for showing this off. I think the only caveat is that there don't appear to be chapter numbers on the English side of the Bible. I would think that would make it tricky to navigate!

That's definitely a Turquoise. You can tell by the by the bracketed numbers before each chapter (e.g., 1047] Romans 1). This must be an old bible of theirs because the paper looks much more opaque than what I see in the bibles I got from them in 2022. I would definitely use this also.

That makes me wish they still did the Build-A-Bible option. That one is really nice.
