Most practical wallet possible

Well done, liked the music you choose....Great part of the world , beautiful views of the coast and all for the cost of $2.50. Great choice for the overnight stay $185 for a great room and a healthy breakfast. I came up from Melbourne by XPT way back...killing a bit of time I went down to Kiama and back then went Central to Newcastle. all for $2.50......😊
Great vid! We are so proud of one of our many destinations like this. A place for all us aussies.
How long take start to end Thank You 🙏🏻
The comment about not building trains in NSW is correct in that no NSW Company bid the large contracts because they did have the resources to build them.
Digital Go Card is also available
You forgot to add the price of the coffee to the total bill. Was it a small, medium or large cup?
@GSSurry Both the coffees were $2 each. The coffees cost me more than the bus and train fares. The coffees came to $4 while the total bus fares and train came to a grand total of $3. Crikey, how cheap can somebody get! 😁 Cheers.
@@TrainsBusesAndCardHacks Amazing.....🥰
Only one problem is that we have scooters and can’t travel by bus.
Hello Kerry, I remember you telling me about your tight arse travel adventures. Thanks allot for a great video. I noticed your Morris. Is it still working? Feel free to drop in to my place at Helensburgh. No extra cost by public transport. Cheers, Terry
@@Terry-y2r You've got me thinking now Terry. Next video: "Nambucca Heads to Helensburgh for $5." I'll certainly drop by for a cuppa and look forward to checking your model train layout again. Drop by my place if you're up this way. The Morris Minor is still battling on, although he doesn't get much use since I've taken up this new RUclipsr hobby and travel everywhere by PT.😁. Cheers, Kerry.
Why is the lettering in reverse image 😮😢<>#\ 7/11 Coffee cup etc 11-12 minutes
@@gandrew1955 This guy explains the reason easier than I can with words. ruclips.net/video/OSPujWEqcgo/видео.htmlsi=ztA4iYPirFtedT1J I should have fixed the problem when editing the video, but I missed it.
Great Answer,Thankyou,Kerry. Love your videos, would have got lost for sure 😊without them
You are definitely an ideas man Kerry!PS how about some background on you?
Why the seniors card and not the Centrelink concession card?
@@brucethomas5123 I think it's because the CL concession card is open to all ages while the Seniors card limits the discount only to people over 60. But it'd be a good idea to extend the CPE fare to include CL. Cheers Kerry.
Next video it might be helpful if you had a visual time line for your stops, enjoyed the video and the music
@@brucethomas5123 I will do that. This video along with a few others are my first attempts into the world of a RUclipsr. I still have a lot to learn! It's certainly not as easy as it looks! I'll work on the time line when I edit my next video, coming soon. Cheers.
Whilst in Katoomba, if you have time check out the Carrington Hotel
@@DonnaGlass-f4x Sure have. A few years ago we stayed at the Carrington and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed dinner in their large dining room, complete with a live pianist. The food, service and ambiance were all top notch.
Please note: Millthorpe is a request stop
16:39 That river crossing is the KALANG River, the Bellinger was the previous river crossing the one just after the Repton tunnel.
Sydney wonderfull Asian city.
1:43 the audio is bad, but I enjoyed watching. thanks for sharing
@@AdamMorgan2878 Sorry about the audio. When I first decided to try my hand at becoming a RUclipsr, I thought the process looked easy. Like most things in life, I quickly found out it wasn't as easy as it looks! Especially when on the road. I've still got a lot more to learn! But hopefully I'll get there. Thanks for your feedback. Cheers.
@TrainsBusesAndCardHacks mate it's all good and yes being a RUclipsr isn't as easy as people think it is, I myself love trains and love seeing different places. idk if I told you but I subbed to your channel bro and don't worry you'll get the hang of being a RUclipsr, keep doing you and I look forward to seeing more videos from you. you take care and stay safe. much respect
Interesting. I am in Brisbane and haven't been to Sydney in years. Thanks.
I certainly hope my video has encouraged you to make a trip to Sydney. If you're 60, don't forget that you may be eligible for a GOLD Opal card. This allows you to travel around Sydney for just $2.50 - bus, train and ferry for the whole day. Unlike to 50 cent fares you have in SE QLD you'll need to apply and get your Gold Opal card before leaving.
Love your vids!
Why are you on a bus and not a train from Queensland?
@@TheDancingunicorn I was on the Gold Coast. There are no trains from the Gold Coast to NSW. To travel by train from Queensland to NSW, can only be done from Brisbane.
@ oh I didn’t know that, Thankyou for explaining it. I live in nsw
@@TheDancingunicorn 1 of these centuries it may be possible to do the run down the coast via rail. Possibly after the next (nuclear) war removes some of the obstructions. 😉😊

Lismore railway station is now looking shmicko
@@captmulch1 Good to hear theyve fixed it up. The last flood certainly made a mess of it!
Is your partner wanted by the police or federal authorities???
She's just camera shy. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to convince her to join in and become a video star :}
Kerry: Love your videos. Complaint: not enough of them. Now on this episode you really whipped your 'cheapo' budget. Made me laugh really. So, if you are retired and have lots of time on your hands, this advice is really useful. Thanks mate. PS Can i ask what editing software do you use,,, is it a cheapo one hahahah ?
Hi Miles, thanks for your feedback - much appreciated! I'd really like to get a video out once a week. That's my plan. But even being retired, with lots of time, I've found it's not as easy as it looks to put a video together. I"m still very much on the learning curve! The editing software i use is Cap Cat - and yes, it's the free version I use. Feel free to fire away if you have any other questions. Cheers.
Exactly, you cant take it with you. Put your best frock on and enjoy yourself. Hopefully the champagne wasn't Cold Duck! The Restaurant looked great champ! Great Video! Keep up the good work!
OR Porphyry Pearl hhahahhah
Great video thanks for sharing top video mate keep them rolling!
@@NorthHoustonCityLimits Thanks for the complement. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, it was my first attempt at becoming a RUclipsr. Cheers.
Love your videos!
Kerry, you always get us in the best seats! 👍
Awesome train journey volgo
Thanks for sharing! These videos are so helpful.
I'm happy to hear you got something out of the video. Thanks for watching!
I had forgotten how beautifyl Sydney is and the same for Bondi Beach!!! I worked in Sydney CBD for many years and lived in Bronte and Bellevue Hill (North Bondi) for many years as well. It was lovely to go on a reminiscing little trip. Very well filmed. Thanks for the experience!😊
Thanks for the positive review Edua, much appreciated. I've only just recently started my life as a RUclipsr, and love every minute of it. Although I'll admit, I still have a lot to learn!
The scenic bus ride adds a little variety to your trip. While not a good as the real deal I prefer instant coffee to those coffee bags, at least you can add another spoonful of flavour if you need a stronger taste. Lovely spot Ballina. Last time I was there I watched dolphins surfing the tidal flow from the grassy area near the skatepark. Very interesting photo of the old station, especially the device connected to the downpipe. Hopefully when needed the red emergency button is more useful than the green information button. You must have an X on the platform for the location of your carriage door! 👍
I wonder if they will serve real coffee (expresso) on the new XPT replacements?
My, you are BRAVE, leaving the station and then boarding the Bus! I really should do that route at some stage, but I used the overnight XPT from Maitland to Casin. . . . 'not' Brisbane, as booked. WARNING. The train is terminated in Casino, VERY often, which is frustrating!
Manly Beach is Better 😊
$3 for a 3am journey, that's great value. Are the waiting room seats at Nambucca Heads softer than those at Casino? You were out-hatted at 15:04 🫤 Jacaranda's a lovely bonus! ⭐
I could have started the journey at a more civilised hour, somewhere around 2pm but I'd have arrived in Nambucca Heads at 12pm - I'm a morning person. The good thing about the early start is getting the sunrise. I was the only person at the bus stop at Broadbeach South, there weren't even many cars passing. It was a dead quiet Monday morning. Normally the Broadbeach South interchange is wall to wall people. You're right, the seats at Casino are soft compared to the seats at Nambucca Heads. That guy certainly did out hat me. Cool hat.
@@TrainsBusesAndCardHacks he was going to Tamworth C and W week...😊
I enjoyed the video and I would have liked to meet up with you! I will ring you, but I am leaving Brisbane next TUESDAY by bus to Casino and XPT SLEEPER to Sydney!
Have a good trip John. Hopefully we'll catch up on the road soon. Lots to talk about! Cheers
No sleepers on new XPT I believe......
Great video!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I just LOVED the Billy Cart! Why didn't you take it home on the train! ha ha ha, but in a way, it brings back childhood memories!
Or at least give it a spin down a slight grade in Millthorpe.
As kids, we used to build them out of old pine fruit boxes and old pram wheels. They were very dodgy, including the braking system which certainly wasn't Westinghouse! We lived on a hill and raced them with the other kids in the street. We had a lot of crashes, system failures and roll overs. Fortunately, there weren't many cars back in those days.
Happy Birthday you two. Another interesting journey. Don't run out of travel ideas for videos as they're alway good.
Thanks Blueyonder I'm happy to hear that you enjoy my videos. Don't worry, I have a zillion ideas up my sleeve for new videos. I actually dream video making now. :) I put my first video up on YT about 15 years ago. It was a simple family style video. But recently I deceided to become a little more professional and put myself in the videos. When I watched other RUclipsrs videos on YT it all looked like a simple procedure. So I thought! I still have a lot to learn! I very much appreciate yours and other viewers comments. Good or bad, feedback is very welcome. I agree with the sayng that good or bad comments should always be welcomed. What's worse is no comments. Thx again. Cheers
Love to watch your journeys very good information
Happened to ride the metro to Sydenham last week myself, like yourself had driven by the General Gordon Hotel countless times. Couldn't resist the temptation of a coldie before returning to the city on the metro. On my visit the crowd was a large group of retired fellas catching up for an afternoon session. Very nice renovations & comfortable atmosphere, cold beer. Think I may return in the future. Route 418 certainly offers a sightseeing adventure & a great connection for a round trip from Central. ⭐
Nicely filmed, showing Sydney at its very best!
Another great video. Worthy looking pie at Bourke Street Bakery too! If you haven't read it can I suggest "An Uncommon Hangman" by Rachel Franks.
Thanks BY. The theatre production was very good. I'm in the process of reading the review of An Uncommon Hangman over at: www.google.com.au/books/edition/An_Uncommon_Hangman/2mdoEAAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&pg=PT10&printsec=frontcover
Not too many vloggers carry a classic overnight bag like you. How do you tear yourself away from paradise? ⭐
It's a Gladstone bag. I carry my lunch and snacks in it, sandwiches and fruit. Nothing gets squashed like it does if I try to carry food in a backpack.
I booked exactly the sleeping berths that I wanted, all forward Facing, Casino Sydney Melbourne and return. If you are told, the Computer does that, ask to speak to the Supervisor, you will get what you are looking for! The NEW CAF trains, which are YEARS behind time, will NOT have a sleeping car, nor even Queensland Style RAIL BED SEATS, as were in the plans in the first place, but DROPPED, later! WHY? A nice video, Kerry.
It's shame they're getting rid of sleeping cars. The people I really feel sorry for are those who are scared of flying. thehill.com/policy/transportation/3882931-up-to-40-percent-of-americans-fear-flying-its-easily-treated/#:~:text=Fear%20of%20flying%20afflicts%20as,severe%20that%20they%20cannot%20fly.
What a lovely scenic trip! That seniors opal card deal is a fabulous buy!
Great video! I feel like I'm along for the ride.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You’ve prompted me to apply for a senior’s card! Ambling around on a train for $2.50 sounds like a fantastic way to spend a day or two to me 😊
Go for it!
would love to smoke a fat one with ya kezza
