I have been using a similar cycle unknowingly and I can say it has most definitely improved my grades and performance within my recent year in school.

I remember watching Angela on a TED talk speaking about grit and it inspired me a lot during my time at Victoria College. Grit definitely brings out the strength in a person during difficult situations.

I have been a notoriously bad writer my entire life, But I finally passed my TSI again (after being out of school for 5 years and having to retake it) by studying your video a couple times. Thank you so much!

Too bad i didn't pass the both math and reading tsi2 yesterday my parents were disappointed as always (sobs)😢ohh well at aleast i registered for classes. 604 words My prompt:is it nessesary to make mistakes if so will there have negative consequences. This goes to show I'm not really that smart at taking the test

I passed the essay portion with a 6. This is exactly what I did. I wrote 5 paragraphs total. 5 sentences in the introduction, at least 3 sentences for each of my 3 supporting body paragraphs. And 5 sentences in the conclusion. My main 3 body paragraphs were based off my 1.) Examples in the workplace 2.) Examples in the community 3.) Examples at home. And I think I barely passed the 500 word minimum. I kept adding to the body paragraphs until I did. Overall I think having 5 paragraphs and 3 different examples for the computer to identify helped a lot with my score.

I watched this literally right before I had to go take the test and it worked! I was able to organize everything and it made it much easier, I ended up passing too!

Taking it for the 4th time tmr, the multiple choice always gets me, hoping for the best

What a marveIous (visual learning) color coded graph you have here Dr. Deb. I have been practicing the #3 apply and #4 analyze taxonomy methods to my note taking but now feel confident to implement a little "Elaboration Rehearsal" through "Encoding" and "Retrieval". I took the test today and passed everything but the writing one, this video will definitely help as a reminder to follow a structure. I also heard it’s best to have good grammar and write at least 500 words since it is a robot graded test. Let’s see how I do tmr!

I think it is a good study/practice habit to try to learn and retain the information from class to ensure you will do well on tests and/or exams.

Im not sure how much more you could elaborate on elaboration... lol ... you pretty much covered it all i think!

This method of studying seems a bit more complicated for me, Im not sure that I will try this one.

Im more of an abstract thinker I believe, but I could try taking notes and drawing related pictures to help me remember information more concretely.

I think dual coding is a great learning/studying method that I can utilize more to improve my grades in college.

Being able to explain something to a 5 year old, would be a good way to self-monitor and check if you have learned enough about the topic to feel sure you have elaborated enough learning about the topic.
