Fj40 ambulance door lower latch repair
The lower latch cage was in the door, but it was missing the internal pieces so I fabricated them using square keys that I purchased from Ace Hardware. Two of them side-by-side fit perfectly.
In the middle I used along adjustment nut, all of that seem to work fine I welded it together. Purchase some new springs from the same hardware store.
These trucks are great because you could just rebuild everything, I wasn’t willing to spend $300 on a pair of these.

Chevrolet 250 conversion using Robert Davis conversion. Built in our barn. Stock but massaged 250 with 292 2.5” exhaust manifold. Currently running A-team performance Rochester monojet and DUI distributor. Not an ad….

FJ40! I have a 76
I have a 327 in a 73 FJ40 I bought. But I need to figure out the best cooling set up. The current electric fan does not seem to keep the engine cooled. The engine sits to low for using the engine fan set up like yours it look like. Can I ask what electric fan you purchased and is it keeping your engine cool. Thanks Mark
I’m running a 2001 Ford Taurus fan with a SPAL trigger works great. The fan is $90 and I’m running a Chinese eBay aluminum radiator that cost me under $100 shipped works perfect

I have an '87 110 & have been looking at all the conversions, what is the HP you get out of this engine, who have you found it on the highway? Did you rebuild this engone or did you purchase it from someone? Look forward to hear from you. Thanks John

I felt car sick watching it too close to the panels, try watching it yourself.
Was it a sheared gear tooth?
No. The hand brake drum was binding. Easy fix, Thank God

Larger gas tank capacity?
I remove the original gas tank from under the driver seat. I converted the truck from a diesel to gasoline. It’s not safe to sit on top of gasoline in an accident. I put a Jeep CJ five gas tank in the rear. I have 17 gallons which is enough to cruise.
How did you get on with painting and fitting your doors? I'm thinking of buying some but I've read mixed reviews...
The doors are amazing, the quality is fantastic there were no real blemishes the only real issue is that the power door actuators were not even bolted in just small screws The other issue is the door latches are trash they never worked from new
