You missed the bosses of stage 3 (the gravity machine is the main one, but before that you have a possible sub-boss, the robot with the hook-shot and homing missiles, and after him you have that joke of a "boss" that's the pirate captain)

The trick i used to use on the Isle of Swill was to get the enemy out of the pillbox then blast him out of the map with the super shotgun 😂 i must've been 6 or 7 years old? Yet to see anyone else use my method!

I love this game, it is little known but yet it is very good. Yes it is classic in its graphics and the music is not very good but we have fun and that's the main thing.

I guess it could have been worse - the C64 drew the shortest of straws with this one - but one only needs to look at another Master System Capcom conversion of the time - Ghouls 'n' Ghosts - to see how it could have been a lot better. Several music tracks; the large bosses cleverly loaded in separate sub-levels and rendered as large scrolling backgrounds, so they can at least have a bit of movement; the levels also split into separate sections so more detail can be loaded in; and the power-up system reworked to better fit the system capabilities while keeping the spirit of the original (though ironically making the original's power-ups more useful). I'd probably blame Sega more than Tiertex themselves, though. The fact that Sega cared little enough about the conversion to farm it out to a small British third party (while sneakily implying they had programmed it in-house, which they definitely didn't) speaks volumes for how little they respected their last-gen systems even back then, and Chris Brunning to be fair had put huge effort into converting the game for the Spectrum. Unfortunately, that Spectrum version then seemed to become the basis for all their other home computer (and SMS) conversions, with little-to-no thought for optimisation. But given they were hired to produce so many conversions quickly and no doubt cheaply, that would have been too much to expect. EDIT - On further reading, it seems the Amiga and ST versions came first, though I maintain Chris Brunning's Spectrum port is the best of the Tiertex versions because a) one could not have realistically expected more from the hardware, and b) it's surprisingly fast and smooth. Strider on valium and swimming in treacle is just not a winning formula...
