Tjhose glasses are pure gold.. 😎😎
Just out of curiosity, anyone know the drugs that David said he had 'troubles with' at some point in his life?
the best interview i've seen with this legend!
Absolute genius words from the man himself. Wow. So articulate. Live Devin
Immortal One of my favorites Great Metal
It's sad to see they couldn't continue with immortal. They obviously have deep friendship and chemistry together even just in person but who knows why happens over time and when different visions rise to the surface but would love to see at least one more Immortal album with Abbath and Demonaz together
You’d be good for metal! WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN ABOAT 😂😂😂
I wonder if Erik is aware that Satan is an invention of Christians
Black Metal is true music of Nature🖤I wonder if Erik is aware that Satan is an invention of Christians ?
Lo único que sé es que E esta muy bueno, parte la tierra!!!!!
I’ve meet this asshole in person and he is anything but Christian. He was less verbally argumentative and more smug, sarcastic and gas lighting. Walked away recognizing from what he said that he has his problems (like everyone does) but his tolerance for good faith comments/arguments was to accuse me that I’m the one who is “blind” to God. From his lyrics to my convo with him, everyone who isn’t Christian is “blind”.
Although this video is 12 years ago, for far too long, people have attempted to blame music styles such heavy metal, and other hard genres, the fault for young people with mental Illnesses of committing suicide or horrific crimes such as the kid in this video, blame it on the music. Pecca's own parents were musicians so it's nonsense to try to blame the music they listen to for the tragedies they cause. It's from their own underlying illness that's to blame and the lack of help that's provided for them, which is the REAL TRAGEDY. The music artists perform and create music simply for the LOVE and DESIRE of just making music should never, ever be the blame and the Artist themselves should never, ever feel any guilt for their actions. Mental Illness goes way deeper than the music these individuals listen to. It is NO JOKE and it should be addressed and treated. If being committed to a Psychiatric Hospital then that must be considered, although difficult to have to decide when it's your loved one. However, if it keeps them safe as well as society, this decision must be determined. I will always be a Heavy Metal enthusiast and forever love the Art and Style. Be Safe. Rest In Peace to all of the Victims. NYC🤘
Always liked them,both.
What happened
@@shep6489 demonaz stayed in immortal and abbath formed abbath. I dont know are they in touch anymore? I think they are.. but they cant be so much like they used to be.
Scheisse....& Ende
i used to think weed was cool...then boom 20 years went by-now I got a rad little studio set up, and have like 11 guitars (heaps of cool gear like pedals n mikes...) 2 cool teenagers that I take care of on my own happily. anyway if i was still smoking weed id be either not playing music because i didnt own any gear OR id be staring at instruments stoned as fuck and NOT playing music! If u gotta defend weed n stuff-dude its a problem. i never thought i would be a non smoker .lifes trippy. Im not gonna judge anyone for anything like drugs, just be aware that its a fine line between "recreational user" to addict...... oh yeah Devin is GOD
GRIM.
"Hey Dev, I heard sober metalheads are not metal any more." Dev: "Hold my smoothie..."
Water of Ain best track of the album without any doubt! Lawless Darkness, my favorite album anyhow!
From the respect, next time you should use a microphone for the interview, its quit hard to understand the conversation, specially because of the background noise! After a cupple of listenings I finally get to the conclusion, (as always) that Erik has a very unique and special way to see things and its just so inspiring, listen to his points of view, regarding this. I agree with him and his thoughts and hopefully more people do! Greeting and thanks for this fantastic interview!
WATAIN FOR EVER.
Watain't

sorry, not my language. What band they're talking at 6:50?
They were talking about Fields of the Nephilim. They’re an English Gothic Rock band. The singer Carl McCoy provided backing vocals on one of their songs.
@@metalheadgamer80 oh yeah, I know them... Fucking love them
I can`t describe how happy i am deep inside because i found Watain. I thought people like this don`t exist anymore. I love and respect a few bands, but they are the purest (deepest) band i know 🧡
Yea..I fukin love this band..alot of people comment or talk shit about them..but they absolutely don't know what their talking about..their albums grow and grow on you.. they take the music super serious..and I love that part of them
@@metalmisfit5329 well said🖤
A lot of the anti-cosmic bands are similar to them. And Watain are highly inspired by Jon Nodtveidt/Dissection (Jon practically became one of their mentors). The gnostic/anti-cosmic/orthodox BM bands are some of the best post-90s BM bands. They're all super inspired, unique, and the energy behind their music is very real. It's not typical BM and to this day I'm still the most fascinated with these bands.
💗
💗... part 8.00 - 8.40, he couldn`t say it better. He goes deep into things... searching for source and not facade (like many bands and people in general do). Of all philosophers I always "feel" Plato the most.. and in a way, he reminds me of him.

"No one buys albums anymore" Eh, some of us who really care do. Not enough unfortunately.
Caption in english types “Martin” instead of “Watain” 🤣
Fucking Legend.
Eric as you get a little older I feel you will definitely be maybe sort of hot in at least 10 more years, let's be honest you look as old as my 17 year old stepson. But your music is good....so that's ok...you will get older. And I know you are in your 30s ...you just don't appear to be
What? He looks fine, what’s wrong with you? Also, at least spell his name correctly. Who is “Eric?”
All these ppl making stupid comments about his looks or his believes. It seems to piss them off that Erik is above all the mockery.
That’s really just more of a compliment than anything, looking young for his age? Since when is that’s a bad thing? The hilarious part is your trying to pass it off as an insult when you have a *stepson.* I mean, how immature are you?😂 and it’s *Erik, not Eric.
The most impressive thing is that he was able to do everything he said he would and even more! Selvik really is a Viking!
Holy shit these comments about weed are BRUTAL: to each his own. If cannabis works for you then, by all means, partake. If not, then don’t. It’s a fucking flower man. Some things work for one and other things work for others. U just have to know your own psyche and mind to figure it all out. This happens to be about music and an extremely talented human being named Devin Townsend. Lest we forget
Devin townsend smoked weed so you dont have to!!! But in all honesty weed isnt for everyone. It's okay to drop the reefer.
Smoke waaade
This is proof that intellectual music and lyrics can reach people from any culture and enlighten the right cats
The man has some awsome patience with stupid questions
