Hey Buddy, i really enjoy your mods you've done to that allready great pedal! Could you share some schematics or pictures of your wireing. I'd love to have these done to my DMB :) Greetings from Germany!
It doesn't works in mine.
Ok. So far no one has done a video showing an overdub on the first loop. Like… can you? I get that you can have 5 separate ones. But can you just keep overdubbing on the first one?? Maybe you obviously can… But this pedal wasn’t designed for this… and requires an sd card to make it happen. So just checking. Anybody know?
Where is the 6 aux switch extender from? Can’t seem to find it
Hi from Honduras. Do you now how config the Phillips hue Light with lightkey?
I know this is an old video but the quartz has always been able to switch songs with a click of the button. You don't need to hold it down. You can change it in the settings.
On the Echosystem, how do you change whether the loop comes before or after the delay section?
Very nice ! What aux switch is that?
do u need sd card to run looper?
I’m curious to know what board that is and how you fit the double rails in a case
Hello there, really nice setup you have there! I am about to buy the MC6 but I was wondering if you already have a certain switch on MC6 assigned to engage several pedals on, then pressing on that same switch again would it bypass all the pedals which were on, so I can still use individual pedals without using the MC6? Or is it that once everything is connected to MC6 then I can not control the individual pedals anymore?! Thank you very much.
each switch can send up to 16 messages, so you could absolutely have one switch press engage an amount of pedals and then using the Toggle the 2nd press of that switch can disengage those previous messages
I see, great thank you ✌🏻
I have not been able to even load firmware to this pedal to use looper. I have tried two different sd cards and formatted them to recommended fat 32 and other different formats and still cannot get pedal to read sd cards. not sure what is going on. Anyone else figure tis out? thx
Where's the extended switch box from?
What do you send to your quartz to get it to bank up and down?
Question: Can you run MIDI Out and USB (on the Morningstar MC6 MkII MIDI Controller) simultaneously? I ask because my hope is on the one hand to control all of my MIDI devices (through the Boss ES8) using the MIDI Out and on the other to trigger backing tracks through Mainstage on my computer using USB.
This is a killer rig. I have both Empress pedals and the Morningstar seems like the way to go.
What brand is pedalboard.. i lookin for two layer pedalboard
It’s a custom one! I didn’t even build it i got it on reverb.com used from someone
Can mc6 change empress reverb/echosystem to loop mode?
Can you go to looper mode if you have midi?
How do you exit the looper?
Hey I noticed you got the mc6 and the selah quartz - is it redundant to have both for midi clock? Or is there an advantage in having both ?
Was going to ask this as well. All his time based effects seem to be midi so idk why he wouldn’t just use the ms midi clock?
shrommerjr really impressed with your light key tutorial. Can you kindly do another in depth video on Innovation Launchpad and how you set it up and programmed it and assigning light addresses. It the best Lightkey tutorial ive seen for a user friendly experience as I need to train someone up to use it for our Musical Tour in Australia. Thanks for taking the time to put something together.

Very gret thanks. However, this machine has something intriguing that just comes with the updated firmware and it's the included looper. SD 30 card needed. 10 minutes. Can it be any number of different loops, only that they all will fit in to that max time? I wonder if is possible to use the long delay mode (8 seconds) and build up a cobweb of old "Frippertronics", say, you have to use one in one key let's say A minor. Then hit the "freeeze" or hold function, or start the looper, to record that 8 second phrase,in an 8 second loop. It can take max 10 minutes in all. Then SAVE that loop on the S-card. Then, do a repeat, you have to play the same notes BUT IN ANOTHER KEY, or say the A major variant of the first one you made, and save it as a second loop. And on you go, with 12 or 24 different 8 seconds loops in one key each, and then when everything is done and finished, whenever you play solos on top over it, you can bring these loops up, and change keys for the underlying "frippertronics" that suits you improvisations on top. If you have 8 seconds each, it will be many iterations before you run out of that 10 minute limitation of the looper. I e bring each one of them up at a time, mixing and matching, so one loop is the A minor, the next time I step or choose, it starts to play the A major "cobweb" of ambient drones. It's a bit of pre-recorded loops though, so you don't have to do them again from scratch building up a new "cobweb" in a certain key or flavor (tempo even) each time. Even when you play with other people you can select from the saved loops the "key frippertronics" that suits the rest of the music and add and shift accordingly, it doesn't need to be playing all full 8 seconds through even. Is that possible with this unit/looper? I've seen very little demos of this "fringe benefit" of this unit, i e the looper. And how many effects you can use at the same time on it, while recording a loop.
Can I set up one of those buttons as a tap tempo for instances where the band's not playing with a click?
As long as your pedal accepts tempo over midi, you absolutely can. My MC6 has a few banks with one of the switches used for tap tempo
Good job dude! Super straightforward and to the point👌🏼
Hi, I would understand if MC6 could meet my needs. I'm using 4 Chase Bliss pedals (Brothers, Gravitas, Dark World, Tonal Recall), I don't need to change parameters or set combinations between the pedals, my only goal is to have more than the two presets that you can normally store in CBA pedals. Not a lot, four presets more for each could be enough. Is it possible to store sounds and use the pedals on the fly withou having to program their combination? For example: I call Brothers with switch A, scroll up or down between his stored sounds, find the one I like, and activate the Brothers. I do the same with the Tonal Recall and maybe I activate it later in the song and so on... Thank you.
Andrea Cravedi you can definitely have it just to scroll through banks! I’ve been using it a bit differently since I made this video and that’s exactly how I’m using it. I have one page where it’s just scroll up and scroll down buttons for each pedal
@@shrommerjr thank you
I can’t imagine that rainbow machine sound in a worship set lol
Luke Flint chorus???
NV _ME cool. I don’t know the rainbow machine too well. I’m sure you can taim the crazy rainbow sounds lol
Luke Flint yeah it does more than it’s known for. I use it mainly as a chorus but when the time calls for it you can do a quick pitch shit spiral down and it sounds super cool and don’t hear a single pixie trail
NV _ME nice one! Sounds like a fun pedal
This is great. Thanks
Great run down! I’m totally new to midi but am running an hx stomp, specular tempus and echosystem, so similar setup. Do I need any sort of midi hub to connect all of these to the mc6 or how do you connect everything at once like you’ve done??
Morningstar has a great write-up on how to get started with midi on their site. But basically you connect them all together with midi cables. Kind of the same way you would with patch cables. As long as the pedal has a "midi thru", the midi signal will be able to reach subsequent pedals. But if the pedal only has a "midi out", then the signal might not pass. The midi hub/box/splitter is what you need if you can't send hook everything up straight. It can be complicated but once you figure it all out it'll make playing/performing a whole lot easier.
1st thing you'd need to do is enroll in M.I.T. do get a PhD in about 3 different studies. This shit isn't easy at all if you haven't been using midi for years.
i cant use the looper, when i a try to enter to looper mode , the light go red and blink, that all, which SD did you use?
If I have this connected to my midi switcher, can I change delay presets while using the looper?
Can you change presets via midi when in looper mode?
Can you still use an expression with the aux switch?
Johnny Woodward yep you can
Could you use the extra 6 switches to just turn on and off individual drive pedals? So it could be like stomp mode and the mc6 could be preset mode? Is it even practical or feasible?
Derek Anderson yep, totally
Awesome demo.. short and sweet. Cheers
Hey there I'm baaack . Pls show vid how to do this. I tried looking for you in Instagram.
Pls make a vid of the process . Or take a photo at least. I really need this mod 😭😫
Thanks for the video, very helpful! Just got the Echosystem and have a question. Are you supposed to be able to save the loops? Because when I restart the pedal the loops are gone...
Great review, this is the way I was planning to use the mc6, aux switches, ml5 and stomp. I just needed to see it! Are you still using it this way? Thanks!
I love your board! Where can I get a 6 button aux switch?
Analog Endeavors over on reverb sells them. They're actually super easy to make though. I'll make a video on that I think...
@@shrommerjr A video about that would be awesome!
Nice board bro! What’s that sea foam green pedal with two switches?
It's a custom build Superbolt and SHO Boost built into the same enclosure!
I wanna know what power supplies are being used. That's my only question.
Appreciate the info. I was thinking about getting Helix to avoid tap dancing during a song, but I really like my pedals. Did you compare doing your current setup with switching to the Helix floor? Just curious on what you like best and why. Thanks!
D.S. Garrett I’ve never tried the helix floor. I just love the sounds and mojo of my pedals I doubt I’ll ever go back from them
@@shrommerjr Thanks and yep, your setup is really the best of both worlds.
Had no idea about this. Very cool. I don’t own one of these yet but wondered if you could answer some questions? Can you play the loop and then select a delay for the loop? Also, do you know the maximum record time?
Vaughtex you can choose if the looper is pre or post the effects so it’s real easy to record a loop and add effects to the recorded loop. I’m not sure the max time but I haven’t hit it. I think it depends on the size SD card you use. Mine is 64gb and the max length is over 2 minutes.
shrommerjr excellent. Thanks for the reply. That’s great to hear. Saves me having to get a separate looper, which I was going to. Fantastic! Is that the only thing the SD is used for?
Vaughtex you can also take the audio file and keep it on a computer. you can upload and export presets too I think.
I like that you stuck with pedals that have top loading jacks. Was that on purpose?
npinero1 absolutely was. I can’t go back!
Yep
Hello. Would love to add this mod to my Memory Boy. Haven't the slightest idea where to start. Would you be willing to share your process? Thanks.
Is that a volume pedal w/ a tuner in it???
kmose1 oh yes! Check out shnobeltone on Instagram
Cool thanks! @@shrommerjr
Yeet
thank your for this! may I ask where I can find that "other video" regarding the Echosystem you've mentioned at minute 4:12 in here?
oh and there are no CC#-messages for the looper, right? it does not work via Midi?
