To be frankly speak nothing be ashamed.. Baba & Nyonya are not purely chinese they're decendant of Chinese mix Malay.... are u need to worry the baba & nyonya peranakans are dying off today... well how many Baba & Nyonya today still in Kebaya, still able to speak Bahasa melayu, still can pantun? It is all become extint in this generation.....

In the past i have so many Peranakans Baba & Nyonyas friend. There nothing to be ashamed if you cannot speak Mandarin all i know Perankans Baba & Nyonyas they speak Bahasa Melayu among their family and they listen to dongdang song. They even know the pantun and they even proud with the kebaya nyonya... they look chinese but they're not 100% or pure chinese.. it is a reality.... sadly now the Peranakans are dying off...

Does race matter? It depends. If they wanna segregate and exclude people by race, it's not helpful at all. And after all they all live in Singapore and they are Singaporean citizens. That's the most prior fact. But at the same time Singapore has gotten its frame by pioneers. It's a well known fact that 75% of Singaporeans have Chinese root. And probably 9 to 10% are from South India. Even Malays, some has Javanese, Buginese, Arab and jawi peranakan roots. Singapore is a one nation but it's more meaningful bcuz the diversity is respected. I am not Singaporean i'm actually a Korean. But I have two close Singaporean friends. I even had a chance to meet one guy's family. And they were all chinese singaporeans. I was not used to multicultural society bcuz my country is monocultural. I even thought every Singaporeans have chinese root. I found it was wrong but i have met their family. One of the most chinese family i have ever met. Even they talked in hokien language which i've never heard in my country before. They welcomed me as a guest from far country. We had a chance to talk about history of chinese settlers and lee kwan yew's rule. Especially his grandparents still mattered of their chinese culture and pride. They told me it's part of their spirit. They said feeling proud of and preserving their identity and hating other culture are different. They can respect other culture by acknowledging its diversity. I was so impressed. And I could finally understand what singapore is :)

There should not be any different from anyone who is living in Singapore BECAUSE ALL SINGAPOREANS ARE COMPRISES OF MANY DIFFERENT MULTI - NATIONALITIES, MULTI- ETHNICITIES..... MULTI- MIXED CROSS BREEDS OF MIGRATION BLOOD. THAT MAKES.....SINGAPOREANS VERY UNIQUE ❗❗❗ My family ancestry and blood heritage traced back to Portuguese blood intermixed with peranakan chinese blood....going further back to german and english blood mixed with TEOCHEW blood from China ❗❗ My great great grandfather was a red blooded teochew boy from China ....seeking for his fortune In Singapore way back in the 18th century. And he made it good as a rice merchant in Singapore ❗❗ So tracing back our roots.....there are many Singaporeans came from many international blood cultures ..... Learning Mandarin should NOT BE OFFICIALLY consider as THE ONE AND ONLY SECOND LANGUAGE TO BE LEARN IN SCHOOLS ❗❗ There must be great flexibility for students to learn languages of the world which they could be connected to their generational ROOTS ❗❗ I would loved to learn Portuguese language in my school days.....or my auntie would learn German Or my sister would like to learn Indonesian language ....and so on.... There would be LESS STRESS in forcing people to learn ONLY MANDARIN .....after all.....end of the day.....SINGAPORE IS STILL DEALING IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETS .....WORLDWIDE ❗❗

It is not important to indicate your race in the nric . Today as ID is personal due to PDPA , the only time you would need to present it is when you are at the police station ( rarely) and when you collect your covid Token at the Community Centre. 😆. lol. I love their curry and prata. In Singapore, due to CECA, we find naturalised Indian talents in the banking and IT sectors. They contribute to our economy. The Chinese here are known for their thrift and industry. They are less than boisterous like the Indians and Eurasians. Sometimes the Chinese can be misunderstood for being competitive and for submitting to the fear of missing out on good things. The impression created may be that the Chinese are money faced. In Hainanese, this supposed love for money is described as behaving such : " yio jib, mak Kim kim" The children are hot housed for the school exams on the first day of school. They assimilated well to the recent covid circuit breaker as home study is second nature to Chinese kids. They are already programmed to stay at home to study even from pre covid years. So it made little difference to them staying home or not. The Eurasians are music talented, eloquent and entertaining. They dominate our entertainment and mass media industry like working as DJ, dancers and news readers. They are fluent in speech and suave in behaviour. I observed most are witty and more risk taking than the average Joe in the street. In flora biology, it's called hybrid vigour. They make friends easily and thrive with all races. So , let's celebrate Singapore s unique potpourri of cultures and culinary offerings. They make us broad minded and patient with others from different back grounds.
