No Country For Long Bars! Felling With 592XP
I received a call and was asked to fall this large Norway spruce. It was causing interferance with the satellite as it was swaying in the wind.
Cleanup was handeled by the homeowner.

Large Limbs Causing Frustration!
Просмотров 8021 час назад
Truckers don't want their pinstriping done by low hanging branches! And these sitka spruce limbs are getting too close for comfort. I don't have a bucket truck, so I'm making do with a throw line and the T540iXP.

    How do you like that beal birdie? Never seen anyone use it for treework before.

    • @CrosscutRaccoon
      @CrosscutRaccoon 9 дней назад

      It's very compact and quick to put on/take off the rope. I switched to a rope runner long ago, cause it could not handle sap to save it's life 😝 Rope runner is definitely better, but a lot more expensive. I already had the birdie, that's why i started out with it.

    Why use wedges on such a tiny tree? Are the houses close?

    • @CrosscutRaccoon
      @CrosscutRaccoon 4 месяца назад

      Yes, very close. The necessity of wedges has more to do with the lean of the tree, not really the size.

    The video doesn't really show it, but this was only a very short log that was left after chunking it down. So I made the face cut very deep and open so that it would go over easier and not get stuck as soon as the notch closed. If it had been a whole tree, I would have made a much smaller notch

      That's right. They've been around a few years now, the T540i I believe came out in 2020.

      @@CrosscutRaccoon how long does the battery last?

    • @CrosscutRaccoon
      @CrosscutRaccoon 11 месяцев назад

      It depends a lot on what you're cutting. Climbing and limbing: it'll last the whole day. Cutting up 12" logs... Maybe a couple of hours? I'm not really sure. The few times I've run out of battery, it's been 3-5 hours of mixed cutting while climbing

      It is a little sad, I do like the big trees. But everything has its lifespan. There are many more of these, and they're starting to fail. But then, in 80 years there will be new ones in their place :)
