    Excellent observation and comment about this song which is supposed to be sung by an opera singer. There's really nothing operatic about the song in any way from a musical and technical standpoint. It's more of a pop ballad. Regardless, I really love the song. I just want folks who don't know the difference between opera or classical singing to know that this isn't operatic or classical. It broadens your mind when you can can discern the difference. Often, folks seem not to know the difference when it's pretty obvious.

    Hey Phillip! I love so much your reaction, good for the explanations for those who didn't know about it! 😀 The Little Mermaid is my Favorite Disney movie and Ariel is my favorite Disney Princess! ❤😍 I love it so much! ❤ I'm so glad to have this gorgeous first teaser of The Little Mermaid! 😍🥰 ❤ She is so stunning! Her face, her purple seashells bra, her voice, her hair and her stunning green/teal mermaid tail! ❤ Like you I love so much her tail, it's like the aminated movie but upgraded, it's very fish like! 💚 For her tail there will have some mixture of prosthetics in silicone and some CGI 😍 I'm in loooooove with her and her all look! ❤💜💚 I love so much mermaids/mermen universe since I'm a child and I'm a good swimmer, I'm doing my own silicone merman tail (inspired by the tail of the mermaid Syrena from Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides) for my pleasure to swim and also for possibly modeling and acting jobs 😀

    I’m curious why you say the song was meant to be sung by an opera singer. Just dunno where you’d have gotten that info from. That song was written for the movie, by David Foster, who knew he wanted a Loren to record it.

    • @encore_music_school
      @encore_music_school 2 года назад

      The character, Jenny Lind, was a Swedish opera singer. So if in the movie she is singing, it should be at least light opera. Still a great song though.

      @Yusuf - I will agree with you that Morrisette does an excellent cover of this song. But think of it this way, too - if it hadn't been for Loren recording this for "The Greatest Showman" originally, none of these covers, be it Mori's, Nicole's, or any others found here on YT, would have had a mentor to emulate.

    Geoff could afford to do what he did on "on a roll", for theatrical purposes, because he was very comfortably within his range, singing easily in the modal register, straining nothing. (I know, I know, you don't normally expect a bass to sing alto notes easily like that. But this is Geoff Castellucci; he has, umm, a larger range than average.) Also, as someone else pointed out, the video is recorded separately from and subsequent to the official audio; this is almost always the case for modern music videos.

  • @blitzofchaosgaming6737
    @blitzofchaosgaming6737 3 года назад

    I'm going to preface this by saying this is just my opinion based on my experience watching thousands of reactions over 10 years on youtube, big channels and little channels, as advice, free of charge. Your audio levels are all screwed up. You say that their volume is too loud but don't realize that you are 2-3 times as loud. Turn their video all the way up then the master level on the recording down. Yes we've all heard this song 100s of times but we want to see your reaction because we enjoy listening to the song. To hear it we have to turn the video up so high that when you then sing the parts it will wake the dead. This type of problem with a reaction video is why you will get less support than other reactors. I can't finish watching and am going to give you a thumbs down for your video. If you want to say you are a professional you might want to put the effort in to make it bearable.

    The “Never Enough” in a more classical approach is a stylistic choice, this is an arrangement she used for her concert with Andrea Bocelli. She has sung it in the original chest voice before with no problems. Please react to her cover of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.

    Their arranger since 2011 has been Ben Bram, whom Scott first met in uni, just before the group went on the TV competition show The Sing-Off. PTX makes its own rough arrangements, starting with beats from Kevin, then the bass (originally Avi, now Matt) , then backing vocals, and then the lead (most often Scott, Kirstin, or Mitch). When they have a satisfying draft, they send it to Ben to be finished. BTW, her name is KIR-stin - the nickname Kirstie rhymes with "thirsty."

    Yes...they actually called it "The Cher Effect" back in the day. Cher was the first to use it as an artistic effect rather than a corrective effort. Pentatonix did it as a tribute to her, and let's face it...that song wouldn't sound right without it!

    • @larrywt656
      @larrywt656 3 года назад

      Actually, their producer Ben Bram, sound engineer Ed Boyer, and the members of the group themselves have openly admitted that, beginning with the Lucky Ones album, they have started using more audio effects on their recordings to keep up with the times. If you listen to the live versions they did of songs from Lucky Ones, you can tell that they have far less effects than the studio versions. Their two most recent Kpop-inspired videos also have a lot more audio effects than they have used in the past. I'm not putting them down for this...I actually applaud artists who are open to growth.

  • @UserHorologium
    @UserHorologium 3 года назад

    "Believe" was the first song to use autotune in that way, and the secret was closely held by the producers at the time. They actually claimed that they used a vocoder, which probably drove other producers (trying to replicate the sound) utterly crazy, since a vocoder can't do what autotune (with crazy settings) could.

    I was thinking about this British English pronunciation of world, because some regional accents are very different, and the Scots have the trilled r sound. In the north east some use a very different r sound, as my grandfather did, not sure what to cal it but it's right in the back of the throat. Sorry, I just have a thing about accents. :)
