There was literally no explanation to why he looked to Cutty as a “Father figure” & looked to crime

I never understood why no one dug up the mound. Her aunt and her aunt's new man have some intuition to focus on the mound. Also, I think Eve had power like her aunt and it started to awaken with the snake. That is why she taught her this lesson. I never got malice for Eve between Elzora, more like I hate your people but won't mess with a kid... kind of vibe. The spell I believe Elzora did was to have Eve witness her father's death and to understand don't toy with voodoo. I believe the reason why the family is the way they are is because of a snake spirit deal. I mean, the whole family is cursed. Her aunt's husbands will die and she can't have kids. Her brother will die by his own sword. He will be the one to have kids to keep the name going, but his sister will have the gift of sight. It isn't irony that Sam Jackson's character had a boy and a girl. I believe Elzora knows Eve will have or is growing in "the sight". Eve's brother will die by his sword like his daddy and Eve will be barren.... the generational curse.

I hate to seem weird by commenting 3 times! But, respectfully, "Voodoo Dolls," AKA Poppets, Mommets, Doll Babies are very much a real thing in Hoodoo! And European Witchcraft, Folk Magic. Im Asia as well. It's a real, very old, very widespread practice. The magic of images, be they clay, or wax figures. Or the later sewn dolls, call back to one of the oldest types of magic. Maybe the oldest. But Id say the magic of blood, tears, sex, dirt, water, etc. is older.. Image or Sympathetic Magic is very ancient though. They've found remnants of animals made of clay and successfully hunted/slain as part of magic practices from before there were written or spoken words. And definitely before civilization. Alzora likely knew the reality of such mattters. But she didn't say about a doll! As she said! Because that just wasn't the method she'd seen fit to use. Especially not tonsend in a child's hands!

Elzora AKA the reason I watched the movie (it's one of my all-time favorites,) in the first place, didn't kill the "good" doctor. His being a disrespectful, prideful, slick mouthed man whore, is what killed him! Now, being a believer in The Arte myself, I'll admit that she may have helped give things a turn, to line up right, and a little push. But he dtill had a hand in his own fate. It's also interesting to me that Old School Traditional European-based Witches also paint themselves different colors. Sometimes with ointments that have entheogens from plants like Belladonna, Henbane, Datura, etc. in them, too. Don't try it at home, folks! Unless you have a very good idea of what you're doing! And even then.. Anyhow ! This is wonderfully done video! Love it! ☺️

It's master manipulation using the freedom of choice. It's like the God and the Devil,the angel and the demon argument. Both have to do with choices and decisions. The angel and the demon is short term possibilities. God and the devil is long term possibilities. An entity has the freedom of choice to choose. For example, sleep paralysis. Someone has the choice to be emotional, pray, wait it out, look around for whatever reason, or more. More talk about karma, but not many explain freedom of choice on a daily basis or lifestyle choice❣️

I really enjoyed your insights and evidence of research. I would suggest using #EvesBayou or something like that in the title, as I guessed what you were on about before you explained. So naming the film and maybe the year would be helpful. Also, it comes off a little off putting the way you scripted this, maybe try using terms like easter egg or hidden innplain sight instead of repeatedly saying the viewer missed. I watched the film once(?) many many years ago. I didn't even remember all this happened. I'd like to see more deep dives like this, you have a great perspective and offer unique information. I'm not offering criticism to be unkind, I would really enjoy seeing more of your work. I watch A LOT of movie/character breakdowns by creators who don't look like Us.
