@ the VHX I hear is killer - I’ll probably own another at some point but at the moment I’ve got 4 Wizards, a Bogner, Mezzabarba, Triple Rec, Darkest Nightmare, RockerVerb Mk3 and an Iconic - those all cover a lot of ground.

@@svtrader don’t need it, Mark amps aren’t really my thing. My Wizard MC1 will do that crushing Metallica tone from Garage Inc. which is hard to beat in terms of recorded guitar tone for that kinda vibe.

@@TheStinkyDinkyBand the Ultra is mid-low $3k, any Fortin is 4k or more, the Evil Pumpkin sold out so probably demand would push the price up if they’re gone. This amp can do the older OG Uber tones and has a very tweakable EQ and control layout. Try one if you can 👍🏻

Doesn't sound like hype to my ears. It's $3300. That's just in boutique amp range and flagship of some others. Includes Soldano, Mesa, Revv, ENGL, Friedman, Diezel. Not obscure low number amps at all. Amps are expensive.

yeah they're up there - but Rick builds these by himself, be like getting an amp by the designer making them, Dave Friedman, Mike Soldano, Reinhold Bogner, Steve Fryette, etc - so considering that - they're premium builds for a reason.

it's different than playing a solid wood guitar as the control cavity adds a bit of resonance to it, but that only has a small affect on the tone when plugged in. The pickup is a BKP Silo, may swap for something else down the road as its a little dark especially since I'm tuned to c# standard or drop b#. one other thing to note is some folks complain these aren't stable with weather, temp, humidity changes which is nonsense. We've had some massive changes here lately with temp and humidify and the guitar stays in tune better than the rest of my other guitars. You'd dig it I think.

@ I never dime the gain, the gain was in about 2:00 - I got issues with folks that dime the gain on any amp - this ain’t ToneWars™️ 🤣

@@wizardsouthJP lol... absolutely... on all high gain channels i have played... 1-2pm is the sweet spot for me... on lower gain channels (think Bogner blue Ecstacy channel) i do dime that to get that full smooth punch.

@@MarkMonolithOfficial basically 1/2 step down (Eb) but low string is C# - so it’s Drop C# but not to be confused with C# Srandard - that’s lower.
