Yamaha HS3 vs Genelec 8030 C - Sound Comparison & Frequency Response
Subwoofer for HS3 is a must.
I tried to pair it with Kali ws 6.2 and we had a little party 😂😂
Showing the ECG of two apparently dead heart patients in the background only makes sense if you say which one belongs to which patient.... Is that so difficult to understand?
Hey mate, I only have one cpu fan header on my motherboard, is it possible to daisy chain these fans to only use one header or is there a splitter cable included? thanks
@@otami included fans p12 are pst ones meaning you can daisy chain them. P12 Max fans that I used in the video do not have daisy chain in the cable (btw you can clearly see this at 2:08)
@@harukodsp thanks a lot, absolute legend
What was your motivation to replace the fans?
@@bigber767 cooling 7900X but I no longer have that processor so I went back to using regular p12
Ayo I noticed the same noise issue, do you know if its normal for this sub or just a defect?
i hope that it's not normal for this sub, but it might as well be, considering the amount of people with the same problem. Official statement from Kali is that this is defect and you should return the unit
@@harukodspbruh thats annoying... Did you get the same sub again without this issue after returning it? Thanks for your help
HS3 are super clear fantastic! the Genelec 8030 C are top speaker but the price is 650€ the HS3 200€
650 ? :D for one speaker perhaps 8030C goes for 1150 Euro per pair at cheapest
Genelec disappear not all speakers cam do that i have krk vxt 8 they do the same i had yamahas to they couldnt do that.
this video was not meant to say they are on par lol, ofc genelec image better, and genelec truly disappear only after good room treatment imho especially some ceiling diffusers and midrange absorbers only after that they are leaps and bounds better then budget monitors, Yamaha will never disappear but they push mid in your face, very good for mixing and harshness control. You may simulate this with EQ on Genelecs. I meant this video for people to compare what of the frequency spectrum you are missing on HS3 (with in ear monitors this is clearly audible on most of the tracks) and whether or not they can live with that
Your absolutely right , i have mixed on both and I can honestly say yamaha are great monitors thay have smth special that is the reason why they so popular till this day .
how temp of stress-test? my 5800x3d 86 aida FPU 40% speed fan. (970 rpm) noctua nt1
@@РусланГудошник the only thing I can tell you out of my head is that it performs slightly better than d15s at full speed (2-3 degrees). It managed to cool 7900X without PBO at full load at 90-91 C. But that was for nonstop encoding remote rig where noise is no problem. For something like 7800X3D I would just use stock P12 fans.
Hs3 are on the way just bought mine so excited
hello do you know how to disassemble the fans
Omg record it working so we can hear the noise as well! xD
rpm 950 quiet
@@РусланГудошник I have just installed it. No, it is not quiet with those double-ball bearings in CO version. It is terrible, I will have to replace those fans. I read it is normal for this type of fan.
I was really looking for this, Haruko. Thank you. 🤘
Do you think the Yamahas could be a good as just a digital piano monitor? Would it decay much on the lower end (around A1)?
yup they would definitely feel thin around a1 (55 hz) they start to play from around E2 key (C#2 flkeys which is 66-69hz) if you need extension i would go with T5V adams if they are cheap around your area
@@harukodsp Thanks!
Great comparison! Congratulations.
just contact them i have the same sub zero problems.
I returned the unit within 30 day window, more people had the same problem, I think the noise gating issue is the "feature" of this sub. No way it's not intentional behavior
Compared with genelec that features 100W of Class-D amplification driving a 5 1/8” woofer and 3/4” metal-dome tweeter, the yams are super good 😂
What is your opinion on how they compare?
Genelec very neutral with lots of lower mid that is not as present on Yamaha. Yamaha lots of resonances and uneven upper mid. However Yamaha is very quick nice transients and very forward revealing sound. I would use Yamaha only for checking mixes or mixing (but you need to check low end elsewhere) absolutely not for mastering only as second monitor. As for genelec well you get what you pay for almost hifi sounding treble very clean over spectrum perfect for mixing and mastering. If you already have genelec, Yamahas offer different perspective to mids and might reveal some harshness in upper mids
What audio interface are you using ?
