Synthetic sentience is the golden goose, and in many ways the "big lie" of the AI industry. Marvin Minsky said we would have AGI in "5 years" back in the 70s. There's absolutely zero evidence that we will be able to fabricate awareness from data, algorithms and GPUs. What a great guest, he is objective and informative, and a great antidote to the hype.
