I create carved, painted, altered nature inspired porcelain and stoneware pieces. I’ve moved to Winder Georgia in August 2021 and built a new pottery studio, where I teach workshops.
My goal is to be able to inspire others and bring joy through my art.

How to replace a thermocouple in your kiln, demystified!
This is an easy task that anyone can do. My kiln is a Skutt KM-818-3. Please unplug your kiln before opening the cover and before doing any work in your kiln. Check with the manufacturer for the correct size and type of thermocouple you need. ❤️

@@aprillemaster8142 thank you April. I haven’t had to change the elements on this kiln yet. On my large kiln I paid a technician to do it because it’s really hard to get to bottom ones. It took him a long time to do it. It’s not hard to do it, just cumbersome.
I have only recently discovered you and absolutely love your work and attention to detail. Life has gotten in the way of my pottery pursuits and you are inspiring me to get back into it again. Unfortunately very soon I’m having shoulder surgery with a long recovery period which will take me into April next year. In the meantime I will watch all your videos. I can’t wait to try out some of your techniques. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰x

hello Ana! where did you order the new spectrum floating glazes from? highwater said they were not released yet (this was before the storms), so i ordered from Bailey’s , bit they took the order and did not have them in stock and say 2-3 months before i will see these.
@@Elizabeth-mo3fv I got them from Bracker’s Good Earth. But they are in back order now. I’m still waiting for the other half of my order.

@@denisehowse5381 thank you Denise! I painted both the frog and leaf with underglazes. I clear glazed the frog and brushed on lustrous jade on the leaf over the underglazes.
The 2nd piece you showed is just outright awesome. One of the nicer pieces I've seen in any kiln opening. You could try a cork for the lid on your other pot. Great job!

It does take much longer but as they say practice makes perfect. I don’t believe art is perfect by no means but you do get better the more you make or sculpt, muscle memory!🤭🙏🏻💕

I love making the one piece boxes but I always have trouble with lids sticking. I fire to ^10 so I know the glaze can get runny
@@kathleen8203 I use a mixture of liquid wax and alumina hydrate. It usually prevents sticking unless the glaze drips over. I try to use stable glazes.
