Protomaps V4 style
Просмотров 5416 часов назад
Downloaded latest planet from protomaps and it had v4 style specification. Here you can find Edgemap style supporting that. It's also pushed to github, but will build next release with this by default. Like how it look like. gist.github.com/resiliencetheatre/1b580bd0301b14d70b76a913b6899f8d
End To End secured Push To Talk (Secure PTT)

Quick video how my Edgemap unit (RPi4) talks with my Thinkpad (X220) over Secure PTT. SecurePTT is One Time Pad (OTP) encrypted push to talk for mission critical environments requiring digital sovereignty.
Edgemap meets thinkpad from 2011 (x220)

Bring your mac from 2011 and it won't do a thing. I just use daily my X220 from 2011 with debian 12 and it still rocks. Here shown with latest Edgemap running full world map and terrain on single RPi4. No internet connected here. And as you can see, learned to logo a video!
Under the hood of Edgemap

Browsing the planet served by my Raspberry Pi4 and displaying memory consumption and CPU load on terminal. Under 300 MB RAM required. Thanks to these wonderful open source components I am using.

Enabled globe projection on my maplibre-gl-js code and this was result! I just love these open source projects. Be sure to have code at your local disks before VC's spoils the fun.

Reticulum activation within time frame

Avoiding collision when activating multiple links between multiple instances, I choose to use time window where activation happens on each node. I know this is not optimal - but you tell me better way?
Edgemap with Reticulum SNR, RSSI and QUALITY

Rewrote a bit my python experiment to extract SNR, RSSI and QUALITY from RNodes (LoRA) and display them on UI. You can find latest at my Github [1]. 5 minute screen capture where I test my reticulum code. Messages are delivered over reticulum links between four Edgemap instances running on RPi4's. All you see is hosted on RPi and no Internet connection is used in this demo. All map data, terrain and imagery is locally stored to 256 GB MicroSD.

Excellent as always!
This looks so much interesting are there any documentation simple googling doesn't work
Googling works less on everyday. But check out here my Wiki & link to Github: resilience-theatre.com/wiki/
Very impressive work. I've attempted to build edgemap on the pi zero 2w for use with rns, but I must have made a mistake somewhere along the way. The map loads very slowly on the EUD (pi is in AP mode), and the only element that does load are coastlines. Perhaps I made a mistake with tilemaker build configuration? I had some difficulty moving my tiles onto the third partition, the FTP transfer was painfully slow. Perhaps I accidentally encrypted the map tiles? Or picked the wrong buildroot config? Exciting stuff, even if I am too noobish to build
Nice! Good to hear that you've tried at least! Let me know if I can be any help. You can find me on various places for live support! I am about to push demo image release out so maybe that would allow you to play with Edgemap!
There was error in style.json if you downloaded V4 protomaps. Corrected now. See this: ruclips.net/video/SCVhn5A58fI/видео.html and www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7265978807184994304 or infosec.exchange/@retheat/113530874804730206
Hi, what board have you connected to the Pi? I see antennas sticking out the top. Great project btw!
Thanks! There is two Heltec V3 lora radios inside of same unit. Acting as Meshtastic and Reticulum radios.
@@resiliencetheatre Thank you, would be nice if you can make a short video showcasing it. I think the hardware part is really interesting, as the software is.
Great laptop, I also use it daily, great keyboard.
So can you run both Meshtastic and Reticulum on the same LoRa device, and switch between them? Or are they require totally different radios? I'm still trying to wrap my head around the difference between Meshtastic and Reticulum
Same here. Both have benefits. By default Edgemap uses two different radios for reticulum and meshtastic. But since Edgemap is capable to flash radios - I've been thinking to implement "on the fly" flashing which is possible. But words "flashing" and "operation" - hardly goes hand in hand.
Is there options for changing the map datum in your program? (UTM specifically).
I believe mercator projection (EPSG:3857) is only supported from maplibre-gl-js project.
I found your project from the RNS chat room. I like this display a lot, it looks like a cleaner / more modern version of CivTAK. very cool :)
Thanks! This started as simple version to provide some development support in sensor development but I've kept adding features and its turning out to be pretty nice alternative for small scale mission support.
is it possible to publicate on github?
I can check if I can push this to github. There is Edgemap project where same Secure PTT is present, but PC version no.
what is the name of the app for the phone? Is there any place where we can ask more questions?
You can always reach me via contact methods on my Github page: github.com/resiliencetheatre/
Excellent work as always brother. Thank you
Thanks for the flood today, keep up the good work I'll be following. -HotMic
Dang, that much detail in a offline map?
could you explain a bit more about this product. thanks
This is open source project for mission planning & operations. It operates without Telco's or internet connection if required and offers you opsec and availability. You can find more at my Wiki: resilience-theatre.com/wiki/doku.php?id=edgemap:introduction and Github page: github.com/resiliencetheatre/
Fantastic work resiliencetheatre!
Thank you!
Im glad someone is doing videos on reticulum, the project's potential is limitless. You should include voice
Thanks! Been thinking explaining things, I am just full of these youtubers pushing their ego & face forward.
@@resiliencetheatre information is invaluable, keep up the work bud
Would love to see videos on wet up or these especially your reticulum content with edgemap
Sure, I am heading into that direction!
Can you send files to different peers on the map from edge map?
Files can be transferred.
Can you do data transfer and voice coms over this app?
Yes. Data, messages and secured Push-To-Talk
Have you heard of ATAK? hypothetically if you were to do it on that platform what would be the challenges you think you would face?
Edgemap project was started because TAK/ATAK was too difficult and insecure for some user groups. And maybe reticulum integration is one of those things where faster integrations and security matters. TAK running on Consumer OS (Android) is limited in security and feature wise. Android and HW platforms it runs are so deeply sigint enabled, that I choose to develop this for digital sovereignty.
Amazing. Very nice. What are the components and software?
Check details here: resilience-theatre.com/wiki/doku.php?id=edgemap:meshtastic_sensor
how can I get this? Amazing work!
Can you explain this please?
What you want to know about this? It's pocketable world map running on RPi4 and allows you to (geo)message between units over Meshtastic.
I'm an amateur with an RPi4 so forgive me if I'm unsure of what you mean by web socket connection. If a RPi is offline, how are you providing GPS location to it? Is there a local antenna, also, is this VNC being displayed on a cell phone?
That's phone connected to RPi4 WiFi which is Access Point. Browser is used to access Pi web map application. Target data comes from local GPS or over tactical network (isolated from Internet).
You seem like a no bs channel. What is the safest phone?
There is no such thing as safe phone..
@@resiliencetheatre why
@@keylanoslokj1806 There are many reasons. But consumer hardware and algorithms are not that good for security. I've been thinking to make video out of this.
@@resiliencetheatre what if you make your own smartphone
@@keylanoslokj1806 Only way. Control HW and OS.
