Aurora Borealis Knives
Добавлен 9 июн 2014
I have been a knife enthusiast for several decades now starting with my use of the good old swiss army knife as a boy scout. Since then I have always been working in the woods clearing quad trails at the family farm and cutting down trees for firewood. I have been an avid outdoorsman, interested in mountain hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, winter camping, bushcrafting etc… Over the years, I have owned and used knives from most of the major knife companies and many from custom knife makers. Owning and using so many knives has helped me develop a good idea of what works and what doesn’t in the real world. I have been making my own hand made knives for more than 10 years using good old high carbon steels, stainless steels and the so called high alloy super steels. I hope you enjoy my knife designs and I’m always interested to hear your feedback so we can produce the best knives at an affordable price point. Don’t hesitate to contact me at auroraborealisknives@gmail.com.
Adler Canoe Axe: An Awesome Bushcraft Axe
Here is my review of the Adler Canoe Axe. Its a well constructed and rugged axe equal in quality to Scandinavian axes such as my Gransfors small forest axe but at a fraction of the price. I highly recommend taking a look at the axes and tools made by Adler 👍

Any updates on when there will be another run if this or the kodiak? Picked up the mnt lion❤
How does it compare to the Council Tools Camp Carver? Which do you prefer? Thanks 👍
@@mouthagapeape8732 they are completely different. The camp carver is definitely a hatchet but the adler is a 3/4 axe. It’s bigger and more capable also
I’m liking what I see in this axe. And it looks like it could be a perfect “boys axe” for those youngsters needing to learn the basics of how to handle an axe. Christmas 🎄 is coming! Thanks for showing.
@ absolutely 👍 It’s also easy to carry around in or attached to a backpack
Great axe. Light and fast. Love the Rhineland pattern. Great review. Thanks for sharing Alex
I must admit that this axe head pattern is quickly becoming my favourite 👍
Thank you for this discussion! 👍 I’ve know about WTG, and their work looks incredible, but I haven’t owned any yet. I saw your Mt Lion and watched your vids and some others and will be placing an order. Looks to be an incredible, functional larger knife with no gimmicks and the design and profile is right down my alley.
@@blackhawkbushcraft thank you !
Do you know if any of your larger options will be likely to return any time soon please?
Vic tells me he will have some limited guns of Kodiak and Bear claw early 2025
@@auroraborealisknives4019 thank you, that's really good to know ☺️
That one is well thought out with lots of features I like. I could see this one being on the Christmas shopping list.
@@bwax1542 it would definitely be an awesome gift 👍
Very comprehensive multi-tool at a very reasonable price. Thanks for sharing
@@MarkYoungBushcraft it’s nice to have an affordable option
You can take this a Kodiak and a bushcrafter or lynx and walk and live anywhere on earth 🌍 I love my camp carver , great review
@@tmille10 agreed 👍
Now I'm no expert, but I'm fairly certain that with Ti stoves, on the first burn, it is recommended to put a pot with some water on top. Lightweight metals warp in extreme heat, and especially with a burn in this is important. Subsequent assembly will keep getting worse, and it won't fit as tight. Also I didn't see a damper for the stove...... I'm also hoping those wings are removable, that's a stability issue once you set something of any real weight on it.
Thanks for the observations
Dude I use my new mt lion all the time just ordered new custom scales and I got leather in the way to make a custom leather sheath- ! I to this day have never seen your knives in leather?!
@@HeavySetTactical409 looking forward to see all these mods 👍

Works like a Mountain Big Foot!!🤣👍

Can’t wait for mine to arrive! I don’t know what is worse. Waiting a year for a new batch or waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Thanks Alex for making me feel like a kid again.

@@MarkYoungBushcraft it’s also quite light. A benefit fot backpackers
Subscribed! Can you explain what k329 is?
@@MountainMenAxes I have a video talking in morendetail about K329 but it is a semi stainless steel with high toughness
Got the Gen 1 with the black g10, it's a great knife. That woodland camo looks awesome and it would match my wolverine with woodland camo 🤌

@@Phillip-mk5vb there will be a new run in 2025 👍
Totally agree about the great gear from Firemaple, but when you say that the Pathfinder skillet is entirely made of stainless you maybe didn't look well cause it has a cladded aluminium base too 😉 But the circles at the bottom of the Firemaple definitely play a lot indeed 😊 Thanks for the review 😉
@@gj6041 thanks for the clarification 👍

@@stephangrobler5524 thanks brother. DHL usually delivers fast 👍
I’m torn. I was really hoping to get an apocalypse finish or a toxic finish or a rugged spine finish. This has happened before. I buy one of these early options and then a couple weeks later. A limited edition comes along and I’ve already blown my wad. What to do? 🤔
Im in the same boat.
Orange handle will be mine. Oh yes.
Have a wolverine. Hope to add the other two to the collection! 😀👍🇦🇺
@@adods9824 👍👍👍
The longer blade on the Mt. Lion makes big difference in the feel. Kind of like a small Bear Claw more chopping capability. Thanks for sharing Alex
@@MarkYoungBushcraft thanks Mark 👍
ALL of them are must haves in my book !! I am one of those folks that would/will carry all of them AND a tomahawk, on body with a 24-28" "Forest" axe on the pack...so, ya know...
@@spektr540hemi better to be prepared 👍
Thank you for this. Not many size comparison videos out there.
@@joshdoddadbod no problem 👍
Yes, the Wolverine is great. Yes, the Bear Claw is great. But if you could only pick one? Mountain Lion! I own the other two and only wear the Wolverine cause it's "Wearable". My Bear Claw sits aside for now. I think the Mountain Lion is the better choice for a person wanting only one knife over and on top of a pocket knife. Just my 2 cents
@@WEREWOLFUSMC it’s definitely a jack of all trades 👍
Agreed. I'm getting the mt Lion for that reason.
Yep! The pick of the three
