Fantastic performance! I’m performing the piano reduction of this with a bassoonist and came across this recording. Such amazing polish and ensemble! I wish I was playing this version rather than just the piano/bassoon.

What a treat to listen to. Wish I became acquainted with this earlier. The piano part is a big part of the overall appeal of the piece.

I loved “the classics” all my life..now 80 years old, and never heard of a contrabassoon !! I love it, don’t tell me “you can’t teach a old dog new tricks” . Did Beethoven (my favorite) score the contra, or is it the conductor’s choice? Notice horns (French) and bassoons play together. Explain, please ! Well done the video ! 😀
