I wouldn't say Cloud is out of character for kissing Tifa. It's more like it's the original him showing up, like when they almost kissed in Gongaga. And you misunderstand about the Zack part. Zack is a very delicate subject Cloud. Tifa doesn't want to trigger any episodes for Cloud when they're on a date. It'd kill the mood.

The fact that you think she’s not saying anything to Cloud about Zack because of her own interest shows you don’t understand her character at all. Blinders on to the max.

(Unlike those other comments you received) I for one saw the dates differently as how Tifa and Aerith handled the Zack conversation. I love Tifa but as far as a love interest goes, I don’t see her with cloud in that sense. I never did, even in 1997 but in rebirth. It still felt the same. It just doesn’t make sense to me and cloud does open up more as a friend in rebirth! Which is amazing to their relationship as FRIENDS but the whole Gongaga scene felt one sided cause she took the opportunity to try to kiss him when he was trying to be transparent about himself. I’m watching the scene like “Tifa … girl he’s trying to open up, this isn’t the time to go for the kiss.” so it felt awkward as cloud just stands there confused and unsure on what was happening. Now the golden saucer date! I didn’t appreciate Tifa lying to cloud about zack, it felt like it was a personal thing she kept from him. Why? Idk and I don’t want to assume it was because of Aerith’s response after she did but! Didn’t she say that she was going to tell Aerith about him remembering Zack and telling Aerith that he died? She told cloud that she was the one that was going to do when he was going to do it himself. Well she didn’t lie but she could have said yeah, I told her but let’s not talk about that right now cause it’s suppose to her moment right? Finally alone with cloud. God I can tell you a lot about Tifa’s golden saucer date and a lot of things I was just … upset about cause she deserves better. Not to mention, that kiss was not ever mentioned again after that chapter… Aerith lied because she didn’t want the conversation to be about Zack, she wanted to talk about cloud. About him, about finding the true cloud. It’s almost like cloud is trying to find out who he should pursue, Aerith or Tifa?

@@RONINPUNKtachi20 Your issue is that you can't see Cloud and Tifa as any more than friends. She's always been his love interest so you have to look at their moments that way. For the Gongaga scene Cloud also leans in for the kiss, it was not one sided. I you look at him you can she his eyes are focused on her lips and he leans in. You can tell he leans in because there is a painting right behind him and you can he moves forward. It wasn't even inappropriate to go in for the kiss. You're being a bit hypocritical with the Gold Saucer date. In Aerith she also lies about Zack. Like I said in my earlier comment, Zack is a touchy subject and could trigger Cloud, a date is not the right time to bring him up. Also the reason the kiss isn't mentioned again is because the Gold Saucer dates are non canon, so they can't be brought up during the canon story.

I don’t see the scenes like that because they tell me a different story, it doesn’t seem romantic and it’s very one sided to me. I don’t consider it to be a slow burner to when both hardly communicate or know each other that well. Is there tension? Yes because she’s attractive but I don’t know what you mean when he was leaning in, he hardly was. Tifa was the one going for the kiss, it’s what she wanted to do. Besides when someone is trying to be transparent with their emotions and thoughts, allow them to but don’t make it about you. The last thing cloud needed in that moment was a kiss and it could have confused him because they were talking about the past and his fear of soldier Degradation. Where in that conversation did it warrant a kiss? or any romantic cues? Tifa is very transparent with her feelings with cloud but they don’t mention it or talk about it unless you decide to in the game but if you don’t. It just doesn’t happen. Aerith and cloud do, in chapter 14. The whole chapter is about them. Again I could care less who you ship or how you perceive the story. As someone who does stories and is a creator, I know what the game is telling me. That moment in Gongaga was not romantic and it definitely express the love triangle between Aerith, Tifa and cloud. But it was only that moment. Zack may have been a touchy subject but I stand with my statement. She could have just easily have told him, “yes I did, I spoke to Aerith about it” he wanted to know what Aerith said. Why bring it up during the date with Tifa? She took his role in that when he could have easily done it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ in fact he said “we should tell her” but was confused when Tifa said “let me do it” Also you are telling me that Tifa loves Cloud’s persona? Cause that isn’t the real cloud…

What about the canonical scene where Cloud and Tifa literally almost kiss.

@wildbard4112 You mean where Tifa moves in to kiss Cloud who literally has no reaction? Fandom is so stuck on kissing. Let's say both scenes they actually do kiss and it's canon. Cloud has a great way showing he cares for Tifa by literally never acknowledging her or the kiss for the rest of the game. All he does is go on more dates with Aerith and literally make her the priority for the rest of the game. Cloud is not in a state of mind to care for Tifa. She literally gets hurt and he ignores her several times.

@@OGBabygurl He does have a reaction though. He leans in and his eyes are locked on her lips. And he absolutely cares for Tifa. When he caused her to fall into mako he literally shouted her name and almost broke down. And it's funny that you say he goes on more dates with Aerith when she forces him to. No matter what you say it doesn't change the fact that Cloud is always more intimate with Tifa. She's the only one he really opens up to.

Regardless, there is still no further attention given to Tifa throughout the rest of the game with Cloud romantically, all of which is one sided on her end unfortunately. She's on the same playing field as Aerith. I don't mean Cloud doesn't care for Tifa at all, he clearly does. But his reactions to her versus Aerith with possibly getting hurt and follow up, going missing, potential or actual death, even consistent romance scenes is not even. There is more focus on Aerith to which Cloud has better reactions than with Tifa at least at this stage in the game for obvious reasons. It seems all you guys can focus on is an optional kiss literally stated to be fanservice by the devs and a one sided almost kiss. Literally throughout the compilation Cloud us the absolute worse partner to Tifa always putting his own needs or selfishness before her and she goes along with it. I love her as a character but she deserves better than the half assed attention she's getting from Cloud consistently. Square even puts their astrological signs on their profiles and Leo man and Taurus women are not ideal matches for this very reason however they BOTH have to work equally for it to work. Cloud is not at a stage to do this yet. Cloud and Aerith are considered a near perfect match, much to the OG interpretation by Cait Sith. Even factoring in the moon signs, both Aerith and Tifa have equal potential with Cloud, but their sun signs make up the difference. Square put these details out there for a reason. For chapter 12 digest in the ultimania, square makes sure they showcase Aeriths date with Cloud, showcase a photo of their date on the web page for No Promises to Keep, and even show Aeriths date with Cloud on his character profile page. The gold saucer dates they show only up to Tifas hug with Cloud (the low affection scene). It's difficult to equally balance two heroines especially in this part of the story. Right now, Aerith is the priority and her relationship with Cloud, romantic or not, is the priority with Square.

And his eyesight while this is happening is on Tifa's lips. Besides even if he didn't lean in, he didn't pull away and was still focused on her lips. You seem to ignore how Cloud does initiate intimate interactions with Tifa. Once again, she's the only one he really opens up to. That's not him giving her half assed attention or him being selfish. He's literally giving her attention. I think it's funny how you're using astrology to support your argument when astrology is literally bullshit. Cloud and Tifa have their problems and that's ok. Like a real couple they working through it. What's going on with them isn't something that can be resolved easily. Sephiroth is literally manipulating Cloud into trying to hurt Tifa because he knows it will break Cloud if he does. Aerith only becomes more of a priority when she disappears. You claim to love Tifa but you're doing her and Cloud a disservice by blatantly ignoring their interactions because you favor Aerith. Also, in the OG Cloud's love for Tifa is literally part of the story. While his relationship with Aerith is apart of the narrative. Two very different things. And considering how the story beats are the same between the OG and Remake, this won't change.

Yeah life is short and Aerith won't stay long indeed, at least physically. So Tifa can have the physical part while Aerith the mental part...

the kiss did not happen at all, that’s why the kiss isn’t brought up after. it was for fanservice so the player can have fun

Since you came to a pro-Clerith video, how about you provide your counter-arguments to convince people instead of asking if they played the game or claiming that Cloti shippers are the true fans? For example, I don't think Cloti is invalid but I do think that Clerith was and is the intended couple from the beginning and I have arguments for this (which many of them are listed in the video).

@@somnusvs6465 Bro what arguements, all this video did was show moments of Cloud and Aerith together, while in reality there is no romantic chemistry between Cloud and Aerith, Aerith was the second closest friend that Cloud could not protect, There is no line of dialogue that hints them having something, the only line that comes close to hinting something like this is Aerith saying "You remind me of the only boy I liked because you have spikey hair" while she was talking about Zack, Aerith loves Zack just like how Cloud loves Tifa, I mean when Aerith asked Cloud if Tifa was his girlfriend you had the option to say either yes or no, and if you said no Cloud blushes. Everyone who has played the game knows that there's nothing going on between Cloud and Aerith other than a deep friendship, even Square confirmed this.

If there is one thing that is undoubtedly true about this whole shipping war is that Square did not confirm anything. Square has been keeping it ambiguous by giving romantic nuances to both girls, which gives both Clerith and Cloti arguments to use. If you deny Clerith or the existence of a love triangle, then have a good day.
