    Sir i am begging you, PLEASE stop fractal burning and get a new hobby. Everyone who dies from doing fractal burnings think they can handle it. The truth is that even the smartest individuals can fall victim to being electrocuted. Please sir I beg you, please stop doing this even if you think its "safe" the way you do it. Please sir. • @exoticloop

      I’m not quite sure what you mean but let me try to explain. The long tube is the exhaust and the short tube is the intake. After ignition, combusted fuel is pushed out both ends. The exhaust must be long in order to maintain a vacuum (it “bounces” back) and to keep a bit of the ignited fuel/air to reignite the combustion chamber and cycle. The intake must be short in order to get rid of all the ignited fuel/air and draw in fresh air. I’m making the straight one rn and plan on making the Lockwood hiller eventually.

    Hi. I'm trying to replicate your experiment right now. Here is an hypothesis on what is going on: When the reaction starts, the pH of the solution is alkaline. However, as the hypochlorite is reduced to chlorine gas and then chloride ions, the pH of the solution changes towards neutral. **There's a chemical equilibrium here** like this: chlorine gas + water <-> hydrochloric acid + hypochlorous acid Notice that an alkaline pH is required to more this equilibrium to the right side which has the hypochlorite ion. Thus, the baking soda acts as the base that moves the reaction to the other side, preventing the oxidation agent (chlorine gas) to escape and making the copper to become fully oxidized and the hypochlorous ion to be fully reduced to chloride.

    • @ruwyev181

      Actually i'm not totally sure. But i think it has something to do with the shorter than normal intake pipe which allows fresh air to get in even with less powerful resonance. Also the copper gas line that goes into the jet blows the propane into the intake and some air along with it due to venturi. I had to make the hole at the end of the copper tube the right size cause if it blew to hard or too light it wouldn't idle and be able to go to full throttle. But if you only care about full throttle the blowing of gas from the tube is insignificant.

  • @JaceN3D
    @JaceN3D Год назад

    Hello, great engine. I fully assembled it, but still have to break it in. I also like the "oilpan" at the bottom, was that intentional? Quick question: Do I have the permission to make an assembly tutorial? It will save people time by explaining what the parts are and what tools they will need. Of course, I'll give credit to you as the designer of the engine, by linking your channel and this video in the description of the tutorial. I'll do it when I get the chance to. Thanks in advance.

    • @ruwyev181
      @ruwyev181 Год назад

      Yes you have permission. Thanks for using my design and helping others with it. I'd love to see it. I'm not sure what you mean by oilpan.

    • @JaceN3D
      @JaceN3D Год назад

      Thank you, @@ruwyev181. What I meant my oilpan / oil-pan / oil pan is: In an engine, there's a "pan" that holds oil near the bottom of the engine. I think the crankshaft and connecting rod get some oil on them when they are at bottom dead center, and splash a little on the piston and cylinder walls (not 100% sure). The reason I asked about the oilpan is because in this engine, there's a lot of space in the bottom. If you get a gasket to seal it, or make one from TPU, then that space in the bottom could function as an oilpan. However, this might be counterintuitive. If the oil is too thick, the engine performance will be reduced, or cease to run.

    • @ruwyev181
      @ruwyev181 Год назад

      @@JaceN3D No that was not intentional. I think that would be really messy and inefficient. Oil would leak through many of the gaps between the moving parts and through the porous plastic. The friction from the seals and fluid reistance are just too big at this small engine scale.

    • @ruwyev181

      The engine broke because a part snaped not the connect between two parts. You would need to change what the shaft is made out of in order to make it stronger or change the 3d model for a thicker shaft which would create more friction. I already have a good balance.

      you can use almost any lubricant but vaseline is a bit thick so that could slow down the engine. If you do use vaseline I would only use a very small amount. This engine does not depend on lubricant much because the piston is not a full seal like normal engines.
