Wie schnell kann das "Ding" fahren und wie groß ist die theoretische Rumpfgeschwindigkeit? In Deutschland fahren mittlerweile 2 nachgebaute römische Kriegsgaleeren. Denen könnte sich Ihre Mannschaft mal als Besatzung anbieten, da sie a) viel professioneller und damit koordinierter als die Studenten rudert sowie b) den Forschern das wirkliche Potential der Schiffe zeigen könnte.

We have these races in Samoa yearly and its awesome to watch. Hopefully one day they'll change to these smaller boats but their sheer sizes now are something else. Fautasi races they're called.

Wonderful! I have long thought that rowing should bring in eights *sculling* - where each rower has two oars, not just one. I think that would be *great!*

Prima und klasse. Ein bisschen spät mit dem einen und dem anderen? Aber, Unterschiedliches Alter, gemischte Damen und Herren ruderer. Ich frage mich, wie viele Minuten diese Ruderer geübt haben.

The Athenian trireme we rowed in Greece and on the Thames had 170 oars. Google it. Dr COATES who designed it died only recently

A younger more proficient crew would be something to see in this.
