Stan lives!
Do you know where this was recorded and if there is a full recording of what I presume is a concert?
@@DentedPentax It’s from a concert he did in December of ‘82 at a Godfrey Daniel’s ruclips.net/video/2Gdbp5gboiw/видео.htmlsi=yllxoVBNTnfRdpCA
Thanks for these audio's from you as I do not live in Canada. I do have Canadian Corner in my computer room. I have many concerts for Stan on RUclips. We just saw Garnet last May in Baltimore, MD. I bought his novel, which takes place in MD and Va. as my hometown, Germantown, MD is mentioned alot! The book is really good. Thanks again. W MD
Thank you for all the work you do finding concerts and posting them.
Commissioned in 1975 for the 1976 Montreal Olympics musical. In memory of all the Olympic athletes who never made it, and for all those who spent their lives towards mastery for a higher greatness and fell short.
I first heard this in the 80s and really liked it. Sounds even better today. What a voice! and very nice arrangement.
Thank you for uploading!
Thank you for uploading! I hadn't heard this one either. Was this from when they would do acapella as the second half of their sets?
Beautiful song. I wish I could have it on my phone.
Agreed. It needs to go on spotify.
@@AC-zy9tz absolutely
Please never delete this🙏🏻 we're so lucky to have this on recording. Thank you for posting
I consider it a privilege to be alive at the same time as Garnet Rogers.
Oh, I miss Stan. This is a beautiful rendition of Franke's song, though I think Garnet did an even better version of it in (I think) his album "Small Miracles". Thanks for posting this recording. I didn't know Stan had ever sung it.
This song was written by Bob Franke, a great songwriter who should be credited with it
Read the description, he is
Stan was an excellent performer and talented musician. His brother Garnet and son Nathan Rogers are both talented musicians and singers as well.
Garnet Rogers has a voice that makes me tremble and fight the tears. A boat a ship is much more than steel, canvas and wood.
Videos presenting themselves Thanksgiving eve of Bob Franke singing this song of his and Thanksgiving night of Stan Rogers's lovely rendition of it made this a special Thanksgiving. ❤
I can't stop playing this. Thank You !✌
I often listen to Stan Rogers with tears running down my face, just as I do now. This song especially turns on the memories, the sadness, and the joy. I hope to hear his gorgeous voice on the other plane of life, when I finally reach that level. I do not even know if this song is on any of his recorded albums!!!?????!! Thank heaven that Garnet and Nathan are still with us, carrying Stan's legacy.
Best voice ever
Other than yours of course. ;) No this is enjoyable though. Steve sent me here.
LOL now I need to know who that is.
but nobody will reveal...
Wonderful.
Stan was such a great singer. As is Garnet.
Great tune!
Nice, I don't think I've ever heard this a-capella rendition before.
