Ayrton Senna Vs. Alain Prost | 1990 Spanish GP | Pit stop battle | On board
1990 Spanish GP. Ayrton Senna leads and Alain Prost tries to catch him. Their tyres are worn. Alain pits first and he overtakes Ayrton when the brazilian pits.
I would like to put emphasis on the crazy speed on the pit lane and the clothes the mechanics are wearing.
As well, the Ferrari's gearbox was already semi-automatic while the McLaren was still manual.
Pure racing. Enjoy.

The master prost (5 times World champion), because People are obsess, comparing drivers, well, 1988 season, prost score more points than senna, so prost again, showing Who was the master Master prost vs FASTEST driver ever senna 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂
Like all sports, Who score more points at the end of the year, is the champion Sí 1988 season, belong to prost So, stop comparing senna prost, because innnumbers prost was Much better Another thing, is what driver, or driving style, you like more
Pfff Prost what a MASTER!
My first ever watching f1 was 1990 Spanish GP. I was really admired by Prost.
I think you meant to say "I admired Prost". What you said sounds like Prost was your biggest fan (I'm just correcting your english, please don't take any offense).
@@johndough247 Makes me remember my 12-year old me who wrote "I'm Alonso's biggest Idol" 😅
Watching many senna v prost battles onboard, prost was very much a match for senna especially in this clip, he was being pulling along by senna. But in 1 lap qualy, senna was a master!
Manual shifter while Alain used semi-automatic gearbox! Senna the best forever, stop full!
so intense
Ayrton drives the manual gear box McLaren v Ferraris automatic . Senna the GOAT
Such good cars. And I really miss David Hobbs' commentary.

these old races are SO much more exciting than any modern racing, im sorry. im not even nostalgic for this stuff at all, but this is real racing to me. the analog violence of these machines gives me goosebumps and the men who piloted them raced with and for their lives
So senna was driving a manual F1 and the guy behind him was driving a semi auto?
This is the golden age of F1, Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet, proper engines and manual transmissions. No stupid track limits and drs crap, the rules were a lot simpler as well.
It seems to me that Prost was slightly faster than Senna in the pitlane.
They need to put the V10s in the modern cars.
Airton veiu se lançava ... No mergulho por dentro.....como poucos ....
This is the real rece driver transmission manual . Handle gear sift clasic . No dumb thing no electronic stufft . Only pure men on the wheel . Old saying clasic the best .
It was crazy. All of it. No pit lane speed limit. No fireproof jacket on the pit crew members. No track limits😂 All was obligated to a time. If you don't shift in the pit lane, you won't be quick enough to win. It's better now, but it was great to see the people risking their lives for the team success. If it could be possible to see them in modern cars. With shift levers under steering consoles. What a relief that could be to them😅
beautiful cars
I guess no one commented on the real battle here. Mansell almost threw away Prost's championship chances there by not noticing Senna, what a dum**ss hahahah. Anyway Senna quitthis race later on radiator problems and Ferrari got the 1-2 which up setted and worried Senna and Mclaren for the last two races (Japan was next and you all know what happened). Most people now, and i mean those that are not old enough to have watched this championship, don't remember but the Ferrari was evolving into an equivalent car to Mclaren on the final 3rd. The best Senna's wins were the races right before this one imo, since Ferrari seemed much more reliable than the 1st part of the championship. 1990 was a really good championship in my perspective, because the fight had extended to the two teams both Prost and Senna were driving for. Berger rose up to the occasion but Mansell clearly didn't, i guess he felt sidelined by Prost's superior ability to squeeze more and more reliably out of the car on that first half of the championship i mentioned earlier. Berger finished ahead of Prost 3 times while Mansell only managed to finish ahead of Senna only once (in Portugal). It's hard for me to point out a clear winner to "best driver of the year" here, Senna was excelent when the Ferraris managed to be equals or ahead of the Mclarens and Prost clearly brought that car up on his own when no one would predict Ferrari to be a serious contender to the Mclaren. I'd say Berger was the best driver of the year taking into account he's nowhere near the level of both Senna and Prost and being an arguably slower driver than Mansell. Perfect Wingman!! :)
You can see that Alain Prost had a lot of understeer through a corners because of dirty air
Prost had an advantage there with paddle shifters. I think they were the last days of manual transmissions in Sennas car
Debatable, they sure lost a lot of races because of it being so unreliable.
Played this expecting to hear Murray or Spanish language commentators. Maybe 20 seconds into the video I was like wait, isn’t that David Hobbs!? And then a bit later I’m was “Wow that’s Bob Varsha too!” Miss those guys along with Matchett.
in 1991 Ayrton was ready to sign with Ferrari... but someone don't want 😢
Listen 2 the sounds of those real engines so good
Dj cualifaine😂
I'm not a big safety guy when it comes to F1, but even I think it's crazy that they didn't have a pitlane speed limit before 1994.
Perfect Pit stop
Like always Senna makes the pole, Alain in 2nd place at 0,437 Mansell 0,3 thents than his team mate etc, but in race Alain was faster than Ayrton and he ate leterally alive Nigel (+ 22 seconds). I know very well, Alain had not empathy, but he was fast, so fast in race!.
Senna with a manual McLaren vs. Prost with a Ferrari which was the first to adopt paddles, the last hoorrays for analogue vs. the rise of the digital. Despite Senna being the last driver to win the World Championship with the manual (1991, on the McLaren MP4/6) and him still making a difference, in the early '90s it was yet clear what was the way to go. Then came Williams with the FW14 and 15, Formula 1 was irreversibly going not to be the same, and it mirrored the transition into the Digital Era the rest of the World was undergoing. By 1995, analogue, manual F1 cars were already in their death throes, with only backmarker Coloni still clinging to the concept, and that again was a sign of the times: Internet and Personal Computers were already omnipresent, and by that year, the World was mainly digital, and F1 with it.

I'm having problem trying to know the track. Is that Jerez?

Times when f1 was real f1. I watch f1 but true is the fia are full of brainless guys and cars are shit. Today formula 1 is formula 1 with stupid rules and shit sounding cars and fuck!ng FIA
Only Japanese National Anthem ever played on an F1 podium and it's wonderful.
