Japenese Fleet: Newer ships with Healthy, loyal, competent crews well trained and led by a good Admiral Russian 2nd Pacific Squadron: Older ships with barely trained semi-competent crews with hosts of assorted issues and led by a good Admiral. It's not a wonder that Japan won, It's a wonder the Russians performed as well as they did.
