The aft cabin is finally getting there! And the new transom portlights are finally installed. Heading back to Main Tues night, so additional tasks for this trip are limited. Time to make some decisions on deck colors, etc. Hmmm....

Bahama Mama - Original finglerstyle guitar

One of my older original tunes, I've recorded it previously however never posted to RUclips. Starts off with a semi-calypso/reggae thing, and morphs from there. Full of mistakes, as usual...however it's an original so it's good enough...;-)

Making more progress in the aft cabin. The interior carbon laminating on the rudder bearing housing is done, it's been prepped and painted. 2nd coat of paint on there and the transom. Now reconstructing the aft berth itself; the supporting frame, etc. Looking forwarding to the aft cabin taking shape, and seeing what it will be like to live in there while racing and cruising! Don't forget to "li...

Longer version of the IMOCA 60 rollover (self-righting) test for the Wylie 60 "Ocean Planet" done in 2001. The boat, sailed by skipper Bruce Schwab, went on to complete the 2002-2003 Around Alone race, then the 2004-2005 Vendee Globe.

I love to take these beautiful hymns, and step them up a bit...:-) Played on an 1890's Bay State "parlor guitar" (rebuilt in 1979 with the help of Santa Cruz guitar co.). Open D tuning
Watermelon - Leo Kottke - On 1890's Bay State parlor guitar.

One of my all-time favorite old Leo Kottke tunes. I do play it on the 12-string as well, with slide (as per Leo's original recording). However I also really like this version I've long played on the old (1890's) Bay State 6-string without slide. Open D tuning.

One of my favorite compositions of mine to play. In open C tuning, on the 1890 Bay State. I like the slightly discordant sounds of the 4 & 5 chord variations that come up towards the end. Especially the final chord...;-) Enjoy.

It's a heartfelt and awesome vision.
Funny litt E mast on the stern, don’t see how it works but anyhow!
Radar tower. And spare wind sensor was also installed on it.

SWEET!
Sounds super-smart to me, Mr. Schwab! Imbed track into the keel, thereby allowing movement of the winglets.
Following Atticus now too, thank you. The boat is looking great.
Sounding great Bruce!
Thanks Ben! More coming soon
Sounds great, keep it up!
idiots
She looks awesome! I love the natural finished wood and clear coated carbon fiber.
Exactly...I'll be looking for other places in the boat to show that theme. With a few coats of varnish, both the carbon and the kauri wood have a great look. And even there isn't much more carbon to show, the contrast of the varnished kauri next to the white painted surfaces still stands out.
Looking great. Almost done 🤪
Ha!
Nice! Really nice!!
Lots of labor! But looks great.
And loaded up with gear that may affect righting ability
Yes but wheres a rigging masts ect that will have a profound affect
Clean!
Is this damage related or just upgrading?

Hi, bonjour bravo Bruce !!! I like what you do, great rendition, I subscribed to your channel !!!! I'm a 71 years old french singer and I cover the greatest hits of my youth the 60' !!!! Sure you will like !!!!! Would you please be so kind and have a look at it !!! I dream to have 400 memberships till my 72th birthday !!!! Would you be so kind and help me to realize that ? Thanks a lot in advance, friendly greetings from France
WOW! Nice!
Man that’s beautiful, lovely playing too.
I love the arrangement! You played some things ever so slightly different and in doing so really made the song your own!
Great tone from such a small body 12 fretter!
I love that guitar. Has a dual-piezo pickup setup I had put in the bridge, under the saddle. I can't remember who put it in for me... For this session it was running through a small ultrasound amp. and mic'd by video-recording ace Wilder Nicholson; see: www.wildernicholson.com/
Interesting… the contrast of 12 strings is greatly reduced, yet the piece retains its distinctiveness, its drive, its power, and remains recognizable and itself. Because your rendition was both recognizable and unique, it reminds me of the first time I heard it: distinct, somehow familiar, and forever a part of me.
Many of Leo's tunes are like that for me...even the first time I heard them they seem somehow familiar...like I'd been waiting to hear them and just didn't know it. Like you, so many of his compositions are in the back of my mind, forever. He's a true American treasure.
Saw you in Milwaukee in the 1970s
You mean that you saw Leo then...I wasn't in Milwaukee then...😁
Yeah Leo Kottke.
Your Fantastic by the way 2:05
Great, what’s the tuning?

You make this so recognizable on a 6! Very cool!
Nice!
how sweet it sounds... 🕯️
Good work, when you coming out for 🌮 and boat projects again???
Flying out on the 21st!
Congrats! One of a kind! You should show this testing "device" to a technologies research institute for consideration ;)
😄
Thank you 👍
