You're so talented. You play my favourite instrument perfectly. ❤❤❤
I love this solo!!! It's such an odd color
You have some great skills
Im a middle school bassoonist i auditioned today, this video helped a lot thank you very very much!!! 😁😁😁
@@DangerousHam I'm so glad hear that. Thank you and all the best!
that sounds so good
@@cub3575 thank you!
amazing! as a bassoonist im auditioning for a concerto competition doing the 3rd movement of this mozart piece! its so delicate and on paper notes seem pretty doable then you add tempo and flare and everything else and you wanna pass out 😅
@@gloomychai thank you! The 3rd mvt is a bit easier technically but with Mozart every note needs attention that's what makes it so difficult. You may want to look at different edition the articulation and slurs are not set in stone. The Mozart sonata k.292 is a great introduction to the first mvt even though he wrote it after the concerto. All the best on the competition.
@@TheBassoonist thank you!
Why does this sound so good 🤩
Such beautiful bassoon playing!❤❤

Thank you for posting this! It was great working with you at the double reed workshop! I'll be using this to practice my all-state audition. free lepaupou - nahtay
😃🤣 . It was great to meet you Nathay. Keep it up you sound great!
Upon participating in the 2024 Stetson Double Reed Workshop as an oboist, I can confirm this guy has a sense of humor times 10! He will make you clap and laugh whenever he feels like it. Merci professeur Bergeron-Langlois.
Learning with a good laugh is the best. See you next year!
Beautiful
The leitmotif that unites the Wizarding World. I am a huge Harry potter fan as well as an oboist, who will be attending the Stetson University Double Reed Workshop!
Looking forward to meet you!
@@TheBassoonist Thank you et merci beaucoup

Bravo, Gabriel. Magnifique, comme d’habitude. 💐
Merci beaucoup!
rite of spring will always be my favorite though! 💕
can't argue with that.
Beautiful sound, perfect execution!
It's such a catchy solo... but I love it! Might I ask which brand of bassoon you're playing?
It's a Bell.
Been whistling this tune all day now thanks 😂😂
It's catchy!
Nicely played!
Thanks!
Are you excited for 2025 allstate????
Should I? ;)
I’m playing this solo tomorrow I’m so scared but it’s so much fun
Wow! Your tonging is pefect!!!
Thanks so much!
Do you know a man named Frank Morelli?
of course. Worked with him when I was in school.
I have a bassoon teacher who was one of Frank Morelli’s students, his name is Robert Losinno. He’s told me about you; he told me one of his students, Matthew did the Stetson bassoon audition
Wow! I haven't played the bassoon since I was in high school!!
Bassoonist must love 144BPM.
Love is a stretch..
C’est top 😂
Haha
As a bassoonist, i was told not to take that much reed in. Should it be normal to have my lips touch the reed? Just from what i saw in the video
There is different ways to approach the embouchure and the type of reed shape, size may affect that. I like to have the entire reed in my mouth and usually encourage my student as well. The benefits are to have better support which leads to better intonation and sound. The lips on the back of the reed will also dampen the buzzy vibrations. For the high register, you want to have even more reed in to help getting the notes out.
😊😊😊
J'adore cette chanson !! <3
Moi aussi!
What was that 🤯😅😮😂😊
My director just told me he want me too learn oboe for a piece. Cannot decide whether to be excited or scared lol
Wonderfully talented father and son. Quite delightful to watch and listen.
Thank you!!
Wow! I just started playing the bassoon, how many years of work did you have to do to get so professional on the bassoon!
Thank you! I've been playing for 30 years but much of the intense learning happens in the first 10-15 years then it's perfecting with lot of work to continue to slowly improve. As a beginner, you can improve so much with just good daily practice.
Oh wow! Thank for the tips, I appreciate!
What's it from?
Barber Violin Concerto
Evelinka is the best 😂
Me while tuning with the band on the oboe: **Makes the slightest difference in embouchure** Conductor: **Dry heaves**
Ce qui est bon, c'est que je l'ai écouté 15 fois et tu l'as joué exactement pareil à chaque fois!!
J'en ai pleins d'autres versions si jamais..
Why did my PS3 become a flute fail video?

Beautiful sound and masterful execution!
amazing tone! i love the bassoon so much! this is great :)
Very nice and clean sound!
Une grande leçon de vie sur le sport! Bravo!
How do you get the note connections to be so smooth?
Ausgezeichnet
Fantastique!
I forgot how crazy those etudes were..😀
FINALLY! I am so glad to hear someone play this! This thing has been killing me for the better part of a decade. Now know how fast it's supposed to go! Maybe I should turn off my metronome because your musicality is in the way you pause before some of these crazy things. Wonderful job!!
Thank you very much and I'm honored that the bassoon jazz king enjoyed it. I picked the fastest tempo I could achieve in a few weeks. If I spent too much time on it, it would definitely drive me insane. Listening to it again, I hear some things I could have done better but I don't think perfection was the driving factor in recording all 20 études. This was done during the pandemic and I wanted to have fun.As a whole, I think there's nothing quite like it in the bassoon rep. Finally, yes I do believe that in the right places you can use musicality to navigate difficult passages. Again, thank you for listening.
@@TheBassoonist believe me-it was inspiring!! I loved the entire Bitsch #3 video-music and acting/story! I just never had success because I would play it never slowing down playing with a metronome and circular breathing (sometimes I can't stop doing that!) and that's not going to get it done from both a musical place and a practical place. I really needed to hear a great version of this and now I have. I also like that #18 too! Fantastic and thank you once again!
I wish I could circular breath. All I have is a bad habit of puffing my cheek but I've worked on having a decent single breath capacity. I can't say that 3 and 18 were my favorite, I prefer the slower études which tend to be more melodic but like I said as a group they make a lot of sense. It makes all the French solo music much less daunting.
Beautiful sound, perfect technique!
Thank you!!
