I recorded this with my brothers GT66 mic into GarageBand. It sounds much more like the guitar than when I recorded it with my Shure SM57A

Lovely vintage Yamaha I have for sale on Reverb and San Francisco Craigslist. SOLD
Best vid of this model anywhere.
Geez. Thanks!
Thanks. Good luck with your Gibson!
That sounds really good man. I just bought my first Gibson have a couple different acoustics, but the Gibson sounds the best. Can’t wait to see what it sounds like years down the road.
Gorgeous guitar. I wish I'd bought one of them back in the day when they were affordable and readily available.
I have a FG-300 I bought new in 1976. Its my baby and will go with me to my grave.
Old yamahas have the best acoustic sound. Just my opinion. They have this magic overdriven shimmering golden tone that comes out when you play em right
The 380 Yamaha sounds great, I have a white label 380 , and I really like it too. The fg380 is a good sounding guitar.
I have the exact same guitar, it’s the only one I would NEVER sell. I’ll pass it on to my grandson, I hope he loves it and keeps it forever.
Very nicely played, Jonothan. Thank you 😊
I bought mine, Nippon Red Lable new in Chicago in 1969 with a hardshell case for $200. Martin D-18scost $500, but I might be wrong with that. The pickguard eventually came off in late 1990s. I doubt very much it's solid wood, but on this, I could be wrong too. My son has it, and I reunited with this wonderful old friend a few years ago. It's been somewhat neglected and shows wear and probably it would cost a lot to have it restored. It sounded great and I was tempted to take it back.
Has a verry. Nice and mellow tone .
sweet playing Sir . nice guitar with a great tone too. thanks a lot for this video

I have an very early fg300 with original case.. going by the label and numbers it appears to be mid to late 60's, its had a lot of use but still in very good condition and still sounds better than anything I have ever played..... Im scared to have it valued but maybe I should to get it insured. I bought it 30 odd years ago in a second guitar store after I just happened to flick a string on it as I walked past and I was hooked... never heard tone like that before or since! I swapped a cheap Strat a cheap bass and $100 for it back then which was a lot but I think I get the better deal now.
You should check on Reverb for a price. I am not an expert on prices but if you sign up for a Reverb.com account Then you can see what they are selling for. When I sold mine I think it was in the $700 range. I THINK. Not Sure any longer.
what a beautiful instrument , and great strumming btw!
Excellent play. Given the fact you've sold it - what's your current guitar, may I ask?
I was going to buy a Martin D-18 Golden Era but found, of all things, an Eastman that I really like. It has some of the vibe of the Yamaha in a smaller body and was only $800 plus tax new at Sylvan Music in Santa Cruz.
@@jonothanwoodward Sounds like an upgrade from your Yamaha FG-300 then? 🤔
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 No, just different.
how much did you sell it for? looks brand new!
Don.t remember but around $700. It did have it's share of finish wear on it but it was structurally perfect.
still selling?
Sold. Sorry
