The author is known to play devil's advocate and romanticize dark aspects of life, for her this is controversial art 🎨🎭 not only about DV but Justin wanted really to go in that route for the purpose of creating conscience about DV and to be fair he purchased the rights of the books to make it so. It seems he and Blake had different views and purposes to sell the movie🍿🎥 She wanted it to be romantic 🌺💐🪻and like the DV doesn't define Lily and she is more of what has happened to her so therefore DV is not the important aspect to Blake and also she seems uncomfortable talking about it and she said so . This is a messy work situation, it seems both had different views and wants for the movie.

She talks about choice to leave someone. How about how dangerous it is and how many people r killed by spouse when they try to leave.

She is not at all prepared and has not really embodied her character or felt authentically for the story. All I see is that one person decided to hate on the movie and specially on Blake, and since anyone can't think for themselves, then everyone hopped on the hate train. You clearly have no idea the kind of work an actor has to do in order to play a character. Stop projecting your insecurities onto this beautiful movie. I've watched quite a few interviews that she has given throughout the years and I truly recognize a lot of symptoms related to ADHD. 20 years in education here, so my assumption is based on experience. Not good or bad, just an observation that might explain why she tends to talk non-stop on interviews. She tends to go on a rant and may not make sense to some people because she is speaking as she is thinking. The fact that she has mentioned herself that she can't just act without also getting involved in other roles like producing, designing, etc, it also tends to be an expression to ADHD since their mind processes information quickly and they end up doing many things at the same time. I know a heart surgeon with ADHD who said he used to go to a bar to study for his tests because the noisy environment helped him focus. In their case, they need more stimuli to be able to focus.

I’m appalled. I don’t think anyone involved in promoting this film grasped the seriousness of abuse - and that it’s far more common than we want to admit. There’s a reason why it’s so difficult to talk about to begin with. So, for a film that’s about abuse to act so nonchalant, is to send a message to abuse victims that it’s common and the “human experience”. Lmfao. Abuse is not just a human experience but a horrific reality that requires intense work to even get out of. Just wow. The emotional void in this video is towering. I’m embarrassed to watch Gossip Girl now . That’s how bad it is bro

It seems she wasn’t prepared for the interview and the promotion. It takes a great length of empathy, if never been in domestic violence, to resonate with a character that has gone through domestic violence. I’m with Justin on this one. I thought the movie was good. Saw it in theater and it was unexpected towards the end. More because I didn’t really watch the trailer and didn’t get involved in diving with the drama and critics. I thought it was a cute cheesy romance film which was my expectation when I saw how light hearted cast made it besides Justin, whom I wasn’t sure why he was more the serious one. Usually romance movies, Blake has done a wonderful job but for this movie, it requires more sensitivity for the audience so that’s why there is backlash. I think Blake wanted it to be more positive and lighthearted but audience wanted this to be more serious and neutral since it’s about domestic violence. All that being said, I feel it was realistic to a certain extent in the film with how abuse can start early in a relationship undetected before the abuse reveals in a relationship. It doesn’t always start off as abuse and the abuser doesn’t always comes off toxic from the beginning. So again, movie good. Not the best but good enough to follow along. Coming from someone who has not a clue about how it feels like to be in a physical violence in relationship but more emotional abuse. But would be nice to highlight that this film is about a female in a domestic violence case and be direct about this to the audience. Maybe clue in this early on in the movie so audience can get a hint of possible domestic violence. But hey, we live and learn. Just my two cents.

I see this as a weak attempt to save face. I can't listen to this girl anymore. She has ruined all her movies for me now. And she still hasn't apologized to that journalist. Her behavior is that interview was hard to watch and is something I cannot unsee.

I think because apart from speaking absolutely nothing but word salad, she doesnt resignate with the character she plays and talking about real life problems (DV) is just too bleh for her. She would rather talk rainbows and laugh like she usually does and be this happy go lucky "I'm so cute and fun" attitude she always has.

It's clear that Blake Lively is very anxious in this season of her life. Rather than critiquing her all over the Internet, we should focus on praying for her well-being.
