I mean, this isn't really hard. It is pretty obvious that you need to multiply by (ax-2) to get rid of the denominator, and then you just set the coefficients equal.

all the information you need is: a+b = 8, 15^2+cx+14, and knowing where a and b are in the factored form. the exact numbers of the factored form is irrelevant. Just write out the quadratic formula on your graphing calculator, and plug in the answers where b is. heck, you really only need to enter "sqrt b^2-4ac" since only one answer gets you a whole number and the rest are irrational, the whole number is correct. (there is no way they will ever have the sum of 2 decimals add up to a whole number for a high school test) it takes a min to type out, but once you know one number won't work, you know its the wrong answer since both have to be right. Even easier if your graphing calculator has a factoring program built in. One piece of advice that carried my though my ACT was: plug in the answers. Since this isn't math class, you don't have to show any work, and if you get the right answer using a method that was never taught, it doesn't matter.

Sorry, you calculate either numerator or denominator in your head and there is only one answer that will match it.

An other option is to plug in a zero, it won't work always, so the method in the video is better, but plugging a number is often enough.

An equality means x>3 is irrelevant, just substitute zero for x, work out all quickly (inspection). B=6/5 = 6/5
