The worst update excluding beta or alpha versions, is probably 1.8, the bountiful update. it added the ocean monument, which barely anyone uses, and made it so that you need lapis lazuli to enchant, which just makes enchanting harder, it added diorite, andesite, and granite, granite being known as one of the worst looking blocks in the game, and they require quartz to craft, when you could just mine them in a cave, and it added coarse dirt, which is just as useful as dirt, pretty useless, and a lot of the time, things that need dirt, you need to use dirt instead of coarse dirt anyway
grass cant spread on coarse dirt, ocean monument is good because of sponge
