IO-360 200hp. Quick gas run and an inside perspective of what is happening inside the cockpit via Ed Soderblom.
Wish I had smoke!
I want an RV8! I"m going shopping.
I enjoyed that well. And What power pack is the net unit? 😊
I love this! Where is this at?? I want yo live there
The roll took a long time because you’ve only got 2 ailerons. Why someone would build it like that is beyond me.
A very enjoyable flight…as a passenger. :(. I owned and flew a Stolp Starduster Too for several years. I was soooo fortunate to do so!
The worst part of a modern panel is … all the alerts at the worst possible times. As a 6 pack pilot, all that stuff is annoying
Like 180 Enjoy watching here my dear. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.
Hi Ed, are you still in ownership of this RV-8? Id love to talk to you more about it.
That AOA system is annoying as hell.
wow that thing is a rocket ship insane acceleration and climb rate
Fantastic flight love the aircraft cheers
This is my kind of flying video, NO MUSIC. So many pov flying videos are ruined by shoddy music that not only doesn’t sound good, it makes it more difficult to hear the radio chatter. Adding the music may sound good to the uploaded when they post the video on RUclips, but imo it ruins it for the viewers.
Did you build this yourself?
I wonder where are you at..in linden wash?
Good grief. Talk about annoying warnings. Couldn’t handle that nonsense on short final on a regular basis.
Ed! Is this the one for sale? I'm curious to know more! Have you tried noise cancelling headset?
Looks like it is up for sale but I am no longer the owner. It's a fun plane and his price is totally fair as he has done lots of work to it during his ownership. I'd buy it back but been there done that.
@@edsoderblom5532 Thx
That looks like great fun, great plane, you are a hoot!
The warnings... don't know how you do it. I pull the stall warning fuse to give you an idea.
Great video, well done. I want one.
How annoying / ridiculous is it to have voice callouts for AOA, especially on rollout?
gracias.
Just curious what equipment you are using to get the audio from your headset, radio and other audio in your plane to run "real time" in your video?
I thought they had 4x ailerons?
God bless America
great video man! do you still have your rv8?
WOW that thing can climb! 2k?
Enjoyed riding along in your vid. You have a calm flight attitude which makes it easy to follow what you are doing, thanks for sharing.
Angle, angle, push. Angle, angle, push. Angle, angle, push. Angle, angle, push. Angle, angle, push. Angle, angle, push.
you fly in real life like i fly in video games
What a fun ride to get fuel. Thank you.
Lovely aircraft. A point is reached where those excruciatingly loud warnings and flashing red lights are utterly counter-productive, kicking in at critical concentration moments where you are flying perfectly well. There is evidence that such warnings actually serve to create panic and stress of exactly the kind that might be more likely to lead to an accident than if those warnings weren't there. Noise cancelling headphones are also partly to blame, because all the subtle sound queues are lost (like airflow sounds), and they also mean warnings have to be ridiculously loud. Recognising impending stalls through visceral means (floppy controls, high AoA and wind noise dying away) is far more useful than these ghastly artificial loud warnings which just raise your blood pressure. A warning sound is actually more effective if it is quieter.
Happens in tactical aviation all the time 🤷♂️
Nice video, enjoyed it.
LMAO you ARE a dork...but i envy you...HAHAHA. This was awesome!
Pretty sure I saw your aircraft at the concrete fly in a little while ago. Awesome airplane!
Yes it was.
The RV-8 and RV-14a are my favorite Vans by far. It's tempting to pick up a used RV-8 and build an RV-14a. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
What engine are you using?
Lycoming IO360 200hp.
I'd be checking the Oil press FIRST not after it's been running for a while!
Ed. Thanks for documenting the whole flight that was great. Two questions. Why are hot starts so difficult? Also what are your thoughts on buying a used RV eight versus the quick build?
To each his own but buying a used plane with a good inspection from another RV owner/Builder will get you in the sky faster. Some guys like to build more than fly. Which is you? Hot starts are not usually difficult when done right. I over primed in the vid.
You make me jealous! Haha!!! Have fun and fly safe!!!
I would not fly such a low angle approach and drag it with the flaps down. If you ever lose engine power your going to be in the trees. I have 625 or so hours..over half of those in an rv6a 180 horse with constant speed and LASAR ..
Yeah like break overhead
Great video for us non-pilot people. Hoping to get an RV-8a somday
My God that's a beautiful RV! Nice landing and great perspective and audio in the video. Thanks for sharing! Well done!
That RV8 in the background would be my preferred ride:-)
See youtube "RV8 Gas"
Beautiful RV-8. Very nice, very nice.
You could use at least 2 more GPS's to make sure u know exactly where u r in the world!
Beautiful aircraft mate. I'm dying to see the difference on an RV with a laminar flow wing.
Way too long to check the oil press, that should be the first thing to check!
Your right, how ever, this plane is equipped with an instant low oil pressure alarm that would have told me but yes, #1 important thing to check after startup.
I wouldn't rely on any alarm other then yr own eyes! I never trust an alarm, I like to actually see the gauge move within seconds
Sean Tucker, you are not. haha. Great video.
please do more videos like this!
