1) In the past, people used to welcome the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with traditional gestures such as reciting Qaseedahs (praise poems). However, today people celebrate such events with music, DJ performances, and songs that have turned into Qawwalis, which are prohibited in Islam. 2) The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not celebrate his own birthday in the way people do today. Instead, he fasted on his birthday and prayed voluntary (Nafl) prayers. Even the companions (Sahabah) did not observe such celebrations. These modern-day practices are considered a new innovation in Islam (Bid'ah). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Hellfire” (Sahih Muslim, 4822). 3) it is inappropriate to compare the traditional gestures of welcoming the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to modern celebrations of his birthday. Some of my experiences: While travelling in Canberra Australia, visited an big empty masjid after dhuhr salah, the main doors are locked but there is a covered semi outdoor area with prayer carpet, men's wudu and a kitchen. My husband and boys go to pray in the front row while I go to the back row near the corner. Old guy come by while I'm still praying and tells my husband I should have prayed in the kitchen. Another one, visited a big well know Masjid in Sydney, get to the grand front door and there's no sign for women. Some brother says to my husband "downstairs" so my SIL and I go past the bins into the dark underground carpark and wander around until we have to ask a random brother where to go. Just got back from Egypt where we did jummah at Al Azhar masjid where women crammed into a small partitioned section to the point that they had to pray outside while there was loads of room in the courtyard for men. I"ve prayed in tiny rooms that are also some how the storage space for whatever stuff masjids can't be bothered to store properly. Once went to pray in my local masjid and found some guy's bedding set up! So that's your legacy in the west, what I see is what the non muslim women see when they come to open days. It's embarrassing to have to keep appologising for the ignorance of the born muslims.

Going to the Mosque is not wrong for women but yes there should be a partition between men and women because of keeping the decency and Hayaحيا . The positions and moves during salah can create uneasiness between the two sex. It is better to be behind partition. My opinion to keep away fitna and flourish the respect and haya.
