Hi, yes very normal, I blew the head gasket on this car and send the head in for overhaul, they set the valve clearance, after that it was a bit more quite but still had some tapping on cold start, when it gets louder, just check if your clearance is within spec

I'm glad its not just me as my car makes this exact same tapping noise on startup then goes away after a couple of minutes

The krr was the successor of the zsr

It was not running on all 4 cylinders at lower rpm, also very difficult to start. Shortly after video was made bike refused to start at all. After valve clearance was set, problems eliminated

@@likebike2 hmm well my r6 seems to be fine with all that but i should prolly still get em checked they haven't been checked since 12k and at 26k now i cant find anything online do you know if the 06 is electronic valves?

@@likebike2 hello I recently bought one with 40.000 miles that runs good but u can hear the valves a little when you rev it in the rpm’s not super loud but if you put your ear to it you can hear it is that normal?

@@glock1inthetop45 Check some videos on stretched timing chain and compare it to the noise you’re hearing, maybe its time for a new chain

@@likebike2 I'm building an r6 powered warrior and it has a stretched chain man it makes an awful noise. I'll be tearing it down tomorrow and will definitely check shims while I'm in it

Valve check adjust says it should be done at 28000km to 30000km on manual

Everything was stock on this bike, it had some upgrades straight from the factory

Hey Craig, it was running standard jetting but it didn’t like the open pipe at all, had a slight misfire in higher rpms, there is a website called 400greybike, if I recall correctly they have a complete guide on how to rejet the bike accordingly

Its not made for economy, but like with anything fast, if you have self control to drive it slow, its probably not too bad🤷‍♂️ Should also take into account buying proper 2 stroke oil and not the cheap stuff
