Gonna be honest, i have a feeling that this might be the part of the game in which Wheatley attempts to kill us

If anyone’s having trouble at that vertical rock face like 2 min in, yes you can do it by launching yourself up but I found an easier way - first get up onto that rock and then stick ur hammer up in the air and you can literally shimmy your way up swinging it from left to right! It’ll still prob take several attempts but I found it to be MUCH easier than the launch method where you get stuck half way up. With this you just keep swinging left and right to build momentum and you’ll quickly be able to hook onto that first lamp then you can launch yourself up from there or literally just keep shimmying up the whole way. That part became SO MUCH easier once I figured that out.
