In 1998, Chesapeake (Mike Auldridge, T. Michael Coleman, Jimmy Gaudreau, and Moondi Klein) shot a video of a live show at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. For an encore they chose the song "Rider" and featured Ben Eldridge as the special guest to tear it up on the banjo. More clips from this great night to come.
Rest in peace Ben Eldridge. You were an inspriation and as good as it gets!

Ben Eldrige is the most underappreciated banjo virtuosos ever in any genre of music.
One of our favorite bands, Chesapeake, each one individually super talented musicians. This performance brings back fond memories. I'm sure all miss Mike terribly. What an ultimate performer on that dobro of his (and don't forget his ironed pants!). Loved them all!!!! God Bless you in whatever you are doing now and I pray to meet all in heaven when we get there.

Sorry it's taken so long to respond - RUclips email goes to an account I rarely check. I was Chesapeake's FOH engineer from '93 to 2000. This is from a concert video we did at The Birchmere back in '98. I still had a copy laying around, so I decided to post some of it when Mike passed. I still have about 100 DAT tapes to go through and transfer to hard drive. Those were GREAT times!!
I'd love to see more. You can never have too much Mike Auldridge.
