was using this code for a project in gms 1.4.99999 and had a pretty nasty bug with it where when the camera was perfectly level with camera height (eg when zdir == 0) the camera would only render the default scene bg color and nothing else. If anyone else is having this issue, my fix was to add this code between lines 11 and 12 in the script shown at 30:05 if(zdir == 0){ zdir = 0.13; } yes, its stupid and hacky, but it works lmao

so I did this all correct and decided I wanted to make the gun independent from the player, but every time it shoots everything freezes and i'm not sure why. I essentially just copied and pasted the code and variables over from the player and changed stuff so it would still follow any coordinates needed to spawn the bullet. the player picks it up and it shoots and starts everything but after that it freezes before it can finish shooting.
