Stunning! Saw this on FB and had to have it. Finishing another then I’ll start on this. Thank you for your beautiful work ❤
Are you locking the Puff stitch with a chain or going straight into the HDC after you skip the stitch? I'm not sure bc the video cut too quickly between pulling through all the loops of the Puff and end of the row and I'm not sure I understand the pattern very well either. Can you please shed a light? Thank you!
Same question 🙋🏾♀️ ❤ but from this point of the video it doesn’t look like she has a locking chain. 12:33
This has been SO helpful - thank you!
You're very welcome! I'm glad this tutorial helped you!
@@highdesertyarn I was stuck on a pattern I bought and this was the only video that helped. I aprpeciate you!!
How many chains are there for the regular width scarf? The video only tells for the wide width one.
Hi! Thank you for this question. This video tutorial is only for the Wide Scarf size, not the Regular Scarf Size. My free patterns include one size while my premium patterns include multiple sizes or variations. You can shop my premium patterns in my Etsy Shop or Ravelry Store.
For row 4, after the first puff should we be putting the next hdc next to the previous hdc? Meaning we're putting the puff in the hdc space or should we skip 2 and puff in an empty space?
No, you need to skip the next stitch, and place the next HDC in the next ST. Then, go back and PUFF into the skipped ST. All the PUFF STS are placed in a stitch, not in a space. The PUFF stitches also "cover up" the HDCs. Hope this helps!
In the blog it states that this can be made with 400 yards. I just can't imagine that is all I will need to make it there.
Thank you so much for letting me know! It's supposed to be "grams" not "yards". I'll get that fixed asap. You'll need 660-880yds for this scarf, depending on how wide you make it.
@@highdesertyarn thank you so much. I'll have to double-check and read back as well because I could have mistakenly thought that was yards. I would have been sad getting to the very end and not having enough because I only have two skeins that total 500 yards
@@maryshearer663 That would be the worst kind of yarn chicken! What kind of yarn are you using? I've made this scarf (the 7" width) with 100% acrylic and I only needed about 500yds before adding fringe. The yarn in this tutorial is 100% SW Merino Wool - I've noticed that my SW Merino Wool projects need a more yardage than my 100% acrylic projects. Hope this info helps!
@@highdesertyarn I was using an acrylic the Heartland one by lion brand I think. I've been trying to find projects that will use up my stash yarn. I've got to stop buying more yarn LOL
In row 4 you cut off a very important step. But I figured it out.
Do you mind letting me know what step I cut out? Thanks!
@@highdesertyarni know exactly what they meant. That's where I'm confused as well. I just added a comment asking about it. it's whether you lock the Puff stitch with a chain or not
excellent tutorial, thank you so much! I'm feeling much more confident about starting my first intarsia project.
I'm so glad to hear that! Happy crocheting!
Snow ❄️❤
I like this! 🧡🧶 Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
So nice ❤ Support for your channel 👏🏼❤️
Wow- what yarn is this if i may ask? Its gorgeous!
Thank you! Both yarns are colors that I hand dyed. 😊
@@highdesertyarn oh how funny- that's what I'm doing too!! So I thought I finally saw one that I'd want to buy!! 😄 So a) nice job on that!! and b) you've helped convince me I'm on the right path dyeing it myself! 🤣 Have you thought of selling your yarn? (Or would that be like me and that would be like project one-hundred and twelve? lol 🙄) Thank you for your helpful (and fast!) reply! (Ima go dye more yarn now 😁)
You did an EXCELLENT job explaining everything. As much as I hate to carry my non-working yarn strand, carrying it seems less complicated than this especially with only 2 colors. Then again, I've only ever done a crochet heart from a graph like yours once. I may have to give your method a try for comparison. Thanks for an excellent demo!👍😀
Carrying it, not carrying it all depends on your preference! When I make intarsia wall hangings or pillows, I trap the floats the back. Glad you enjoyed this tutorial!
This is an absolutely gorgeous scarf!
Thank you!
Love the tutorial and what a beautiful stitch, thank you so much ❤❤❤
You're very welcome! It's one of my favorite stitches!
Oh my god this is so tedious
gorgeous <3
What is the stitch multiple?
Hi! Thank you for this question. For my free crochet patterns, I usually don't give out the stitch multiple. However, I do include it plus multiple sizes and variations in my premium PDF patterns. This video tutorial is meant to show you how to crochet the Wide Version of the Brioche Bun Scarf, and provide a visual component for the written instructions.
Beautiful
would have been helpful if you took your fingers out the way so we could see exactly where to insert the hook
Thank you. The information you included in the beginning about how to section off a chart to determine how many bobbins and where to add them in while working was nicely explained and very useful!
Yes! I'd been wondering about this through several other tutorials then voila! here was my answer.
Oh, yay! So glad this tutorial helped you!
thank you this was very helpful
Thank you , this really helped me
Thank you for this pattern. It's so cute! I made one before my son was born in 2021.
You're welcome! This was a sweet hat to design. :)

Thank you!

I'm glad I watched this before attempting to do the stitch. I have done the half double between the post stitch before but that on had chains between it. I would have been trying to put chains in between the sets of 2 HDC stitches. This is beautiful and I could use a quick project like this, plus, like you said, my pot holder game seriously needs some help. I also desperately need dishcloths and towels. I have no idea where they disappear too. It sure isn't a cleaning fairy taking them and using them.
Tiffany, I'm so glad this tutorial helped! The Arvensis Stitch can be a bit tricky to get the hang of, but I hope it was smooth sailing after the first few 1-2 rows. Thank you for watching, and leaving a comment! Happy creating, Joanna
@@highdesertyarn oh yes, I made myself a set for my family and they love them as pot holders. Then I made a large set of washcloths for a friend of mine who had just moved into her new home. I did 4 washcloths, 2 face rounds, 2 mini hand towels, a loofa ball and then a hdc basket. She loves all shades of pink so I used Dishie from we crochet in pomegranate and blush. She gushes about it all the time. Whenever she has people over and someone makes a comment she'll go on and on about it. Lol
How does it work if you crochet back & forth rather than in the round? Would you do a row of sc or SS in between? Thanks
Hi Lyn! No, I wouldn't do a row of single crochet between. I'd still find the two "legs" and insert my hook between them. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
Не поняла. А где сам узор?
Hi! You can get the pattern for the scarf here... highdesertyarn.com/brioche-bun-scarf-pattern/
Very hard to hear you. Need to do better setting up your microphone. Also very disappointed not showing whole /all stickers.
Hi Mary! I'm sorry you had a hard time hearing me. As I was listening to it again, I didn't notice any problems on my end. The volume didn't need to be turned past medium for me to hear. I also asked a few people to listen from their devices as well, and they had no issues with hearing me. May I suggest using headphones, or making sure your volume/sound settings are correct? If you're using Bluetooth headphones, that may cause a poor connection, too. About the other stitches not being part of this video tutorial.. I clearly state that this video is only for the Paired Half Double Crochet Stitch in the title and description. I have photo tutorials for the Puff Stitches on my blog. The links to those tutorials are in the video description. The Paired Half Double Crochet is a bit trickier, and that's why I chose to make a video tutorial for it. Although I don't have video tutorials for the Puff Stitches, I'd be happy to find a great one for you. Please let me know! If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know. I will do what I can to help. Joanna
This is a beautiful piece, it sucks that you only showed one stitch.
Hi Laura! Thank you - I'm glad you like the piece. The intention for this video is to only be a tutorial for the Paired Half Double Crochet Stitch used in the Brioche Bun Crochet Scarf Pattern -- not for the whole scarf. I found that this stitch was difficult to explain through a photo tutorial on my blog. The free pattern for the Brioche Bun Scarf is on my blog with links to photo tutorials for the Puff Stitches used in the rest of the scarf. Here is the link if you're interested in seeing the whole piece with the other stitches. highdesertyarn.com/brioche-bun-scarf-pattern/
This is a beautiful stitch I just wish you would have shown how to make the puff rows as well
Hi! I only showed the Paired Half Double Crochet Stitch because I have photo tutorials on my blog for the other stitches used in this scarf. If you're interested in learning the other stitches, you can find them in the free pattern for the Brioche Bun Scarf at this link here highdesertyarn.com/brioche-bun-scarf-pattern/
