Behind the scenes of ski tuning on a Montana Challenge!
Просмотров 10414 дней назад
Come behind the scenes as we prep some skis for the upcoming season! This was a quick video we put together to show the inner workings of our back shop. We do not go over everything that we do to skis and snowboards, but this is a nice starting point to show what goes into most tunes that we do. We'll show some more behind the scenes and tutorials as the season goes on. As always, big thanks to...

In the spring of 2024 we mounted up some Line Vision 108's and headed out to Colorado for some touring action. We attempted Democrat but had to turn back about halfway up as conditions were not ideal. The next day we tackled Silver Couloir during perfect conditions. Amazing time!

Ski Company Famous Warehouse Ski Sale 2019-2020
Kinda old, but what size for a 6' dad, 205, who likes to rip groomers on the off days but also play in the trees.
I’m the man in the gray
Definately right to the point and very helpful , nicely done !
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips, video was super helpful
Heck yeah! Good luck!
For future videos, stop the background music couldn’t understand you
Aw bummer. Will keep that in mind for the next one!
@@theskicompany2629I kinda like the bgm tho😊Thanks for the video!
I thought after you have the boot on, you push the tongue back down a little to seat your heel and your arch, to keep from getting heel float ? When your boot gets to 40° F. No matter how warm you were trying to keep them, they are not that easy, even doing all that you showed and said.
@raymondsiewert2720 To each their own, but typically that will just put unwanted pressure on the top of your instep. 9/10 pulling up on the tongue makes the boot feel and fit better. If you are experiencing a lot of slop or play, could be wrong size or wrong shape boot. Footbeds help to address any arch/ instep issues and highly recommended. Also, don't put on cold boots! Keep 'em up front in your car/truck/SUV on the way to the hill. Cold boot = cold feet! Warm boots = easier to put on and warmer feet! Just some tips!
Helpful, thanks.
You're welcome!
I think these changes are a good thing. The tail on the Mpro 90 was a little demanding off trail

Very nice,,,,
So good
Awesome Richie
Looking good trevor!
Do you have any rear entry boots with a flex of 80-100? (intermediate to advanced skier)
Any girls boards for pre teens that are over 5ft tall?
Yes, we have plenty of women's boards available at major markdowns!
@The Ski Company just came to the store to check it out, but you closed for the day. Bummer. I'm really interested in options. I have 2 girls...1 will be 12 next season, and the other will be 10. They're both fairly tall. Hoping you still have something if I can get there before the store closes. 😒
Hold the phone sideways, not up and down!
Quick shout out from Colorado. Caleb, great review. I just got the V82s and you were spot on. Not every day is a powder day (even in the Rockies), and these are a perfect front-side carving machine when the weather is uncooperative. I didn't feel as comfortable skiing switch on these as you did because of the hard tail (you are also a very talented skier). I prefer a rocker tail for backwards skiing. In any case, your review and video were spot on, and I hope you pursue this endeavor. You're a great reviewer. To respond to other comments - these skis are certainly not going to be good for off-piste skiing. These are front-side boards. They like corduroy. There are so many great all-mountain options and better yet - condition specific boards out there. I personally use a quiver of three. Frontside: V82. All around and moderate powder: Rossi Sin 7 (Sky HD), and for the days when fresh is measured in feet not inches: Majesty Lumberjack with full rocker and 120 underfoot. The one ski solution is a myth popular among the casual skier. Strong work Caleb.
How would you compare this one with V76? Tip: I’d say I’m high intermediate, want to improve my carving game at west coast.
I got the chance to get the deacon 76 half price and they come with binding in the price. But may be is a difficult ski like my old p50 gs racing no idea and they are mainly piste skis.. Or i can try to make a change and if i find it discounted i could get a mantra 5 which seens good in piste and off piste too? What to do? Thanks sure i must check if i find the mantra m5 reduced and plus the binding as extra if i do not use some old atomic ones....suggestion from your side?
Would this be a good option to ad to my quiver allready owning a 110 or would the diverence be to small? I am still looking for something less powder orientated for the normal days but still it would have to be able to ski off trail well...
Ive been looking for that ski all year long and couldn’t find it. Where can I buy it?
You might try to give The Ski Company in Rochester, NY a call. People absolutely LOVE the Mantra so they don't stay in stores long.
1point21games cheers for the answer. I ended up buying the new ones
On line one can find anything these days
Thanks for the review man. Did you get a chance to take this off the groomers at all? If so how was it there? Also what is your height/weight?
Hi @Bushwacked487, I'm the creator of this demo video and to answer your question I was not able to try the V82 off groomers. That said, I can see it being super fun in a glade, provided that the snow isn't crazy deep. I'm sure it can handle fresh snow to a reasonable depth, but the 82mm waist is best suited for groomed/higher traffic surfaces in my opinion. Also, I'm 5'11" and weigh ~160lbs. Skis in the high-170cm range tend to be my personal preference. Cheers!
Do U try to get 180, 540 at Mantra? It's real?
I didn't try any spin tricks on the Mantra, but did ski the new Kendo 88 and hit a few jumps. I thought the Kendo was a little more maneuverable than the Mantra in this regard, but in fluffy back country pow the Mantra is probably pretty dialed.
these vs kore 93?
make sure you demo the kore93. it is a different ski and a mixed bag for me. I think it has a lot to do with stance, too much forward lean and the ski just wants to go fast in steep and technical terrain. Amazing edge hold for a 93! almost too much in a way that it doesn't release the way I am used to.
@@urbanrunoff Yeah lots of mixed reviews on the Kore.. What about the Rustler 9? Seems even more comparable to Enforcer
@@orzoo0685 I wanted to love it, it looks great it is super light and has its moments but overall it is not what I am looking for in a ski. That being said I prefer the Brahma or Kendo over the Enforcer too. Something about the nose rocker on steep hard slopes kept holding me back from laying fully into turns (ass to the grass style) ;) probably me though
@orzoO0 That's me in the video and unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try the Kore 93 yet. A couple anecdotes I would share, however, are that the Enforcer 93 is generally quite a bit less expense than the Kore 93 and seems like it's much more readily available. I was constantly hearing stories about the Kore's production run being fairly limited. Maybe that's changed. Also, people seem to REALLY LOVE the Kore series. The Kore 93 was likely the most demoed ski of all the skis in The Ski Company's demo fleet for the past two years in a row. I also haven't tried the Rustler 9, but a coworker of mine was absolutely in love with that one. Cheers!
Enforcers are garbage. Kore's are stiffer, lighter, better built and have a wider performance envelope.
